Microsoft’s Project xCloud Game Streaming Service

Launches In Preview On Ios, Already At Full Capacity

Microsoft recently announces that they are coming up with their new project xCloud game preview, which is compatible with iOS devices. The interesting thing to note is that the preview is already full. This preview was available for over 10K testers through Apple’s Test Flight program. Since the day Microsoft launched this program for Android phones, iOS device users were impatiently waiting for its release on Apple phones too. Though, it is only available in the UK, US, and Canada.

Microsoft’s Project X Cloud Game Streaming Service

What is Project xCloud?

Project xCloud is a video-game streaming setting that makes users to stream console and PC-based games instantly on various devices. You don’t have to hassle to download games; instead, you can directly stream it from Microsoft’s servers. The platform is specially designed to make gamers play their games quickly and without taking the efforts of downloading such big space-occupying games in their PCs and other devices.

It will not replace the traditional disc-based games or digital games. Instead, Microsoft is hoping for it to popularize console-quality gaming among those people who are lacking the necessary equipment to do so. With the help of this preview, you can stream your games on your device itself. This means gamers can experience high-quality Xbox or PC gaming without actually buying the whole system.

Differences between iOS and Android Preview

There are a few differences between the previews of Project xCloud game for iOS and Android platforms. The Android preview supports Xbox Console streaming, but the iOS Test Flight does not support it on their devices. Only a single game is there for the users to test named Halo: The Master Chief Collection. Tech-giant, Microsoft, states that this issue is because of Apple’s App Store’s policies.

Availability of the preview

The preview was accessible through the invitations based on the first-come, first-serve pattern. This was because Windows’ makers were expecting a high demand for the preview. Microsoft said that they might go for registrants through testing purposes because of limited spaces in the program. This means you still have the last chance of participating in the preview.

iOS users must have an account with Microsoft connected to their Xbox Gamertag in order to test out Project xCloud. The iOS devices they currently have should have iOS 13.0 and Bluetooth V4.0 in it. They will also need to have an Xbox One Wireless Controller, which should be compatible with Bluetooth. They recommend an internet connection of at least 10Mbps speed.
