How to Download YouTube Videos for Offline Viewing?

Life is sorted.. No more lagging videos!

Spotty internet connections are the worst. They affect our browsing, playing games, and watching videos. Those who commute a long distance for work or study know the frustration a spotty internet connection can cause. This is where YouTube has come out with an awesome feature. The YouTube offline viewing feature is for those who want to view videos smoothly while not having a good internet connection. To use this, one could easily download the videos they want via Wi-Fi and later, view them offline. It can be used on both Android and iOS devices. While this feature has been around for quite some time, many users don’t know much about this.

To download a YouTube video for offline viewing, first, open the YouTube app on your Android or iOS smartphone or tablet. Go to the video that you want to download. Once you have the video, you will see an option ‘Add to Offline’ icon located below the video. You can also get to this option by clicking on the menu button and selecting the ‘Add to Offline’ options. If the particular video does not support this feature, you will see a crossed Add to Offline button. This means you will not be able to download the video for offline viewing.

Once you click on the option, you will be asked to select the resolution – Low, Medium, or HD. While the low resolution will take up the least space, it will also have the worst quality. Similarly, HD videos will take up more space, but the quality will be very high. Once you choose this, the video will start downloading and will be saved on your device.
