Design (Metal design in first Moto G Series)

When compared with the other mobiles in the phone industry, Moto G5 Plus gets the 5.2” full HD (High Definition) display and gets the top place within the space.

G5 Plus maintains a great balanced look and allows the users to prefer for front-mounted fingerprint sensor instead of using the rear one. It is equally proportioned bezels on the bottom and top. This is the first Moto G series to craft using a metal base.

Moto G5 Plus Review

The front & back edges are banded with Shiny aluminum along with metal backplate. The large circular camera module will appear similar to Moto’s premium Z-series mobile phones. It is hardly a deal-breaker and does not entirely made up of metal, it has plastic sides & bottom and the topside is inserted with small plastics.

Moto G5 Plus lacks the utilization of 802.11 AC Wi-Fi usage that blocks the users to reach the same connection speed when compared with other mobiles (ZTE’s Blade V8 Pro) while connected to other latest routers.

With regards to the Size, it has a larger 5.5” display with measurements of 5.46 ounces (5.91 x 2.91 x 0.3 inches) which is smaller with the Honor 6X Pro model of 5.71 ounces (5.94 x 3 x 0.32 inches).

Moreover, it has a huge difference in weight & size when compared with ZTE Blade V8 Pro of 6.53 ounces (6.14 x 3.03 x 0.36 inches). Those who prefer to use more compact mobiles can easily get the better pick of Moto G5 Plus mobiles.

Hardware & Features

The hardware available within the Moto G5 Plus and Moto G5 are somewhat different and both handsets vary into several variants. Most of them might expect that the phone may deliver the top-tier hardware but its stick to mid-tier & entry-level components within both G5 Plus and G5 respectively.

Moto G5 uses the Qualcomm Snapdragon 430 SoC processor. Both GPU names are a little bit confusing. It has a sideways shift that Moto G4 is also packed along with Snapdragon 617 SoC processor.

Both Octa-core and SoCs models are utilized through the CPU cores of ARM Cortex-A3. S617 variant is split into two different clusters such as 1.2 GHz quad-core & 1.5 GHz quad-core. However, the S430 includes the entire 8-clocked 1.4 GHz quad-core cluster.

Even the Memory bandwidth is reduced when compared from S617 to S430. The S430 uses the minor downgrade Adreno 505 CPU when compared with S617 uses the Adreno 405 CPU.

Hardware Configurations

Moto G5 Plus & Moto G5 are available in two different configurations. One variant is 2 GB of RAM with 16 GB of NAND and another variant is 3 GB of RAM with 32 GB of NAND. Both Moto models support the MicroSD card expansion.

With regard to wireless connectivity, it offers Wi-Fi 802.11 n/g/b/a with dual-band, Bluetooth 4.2, and LTE Category 4. It lacks the latest technologies support such as fast LTE and Wi-Fi AC.

It also has various G5 Plus model configurations such as RAM capacity ranging from 2 GB up to a maximum of 4GB and 64 GB or 32 GB of NAND. Also, it offers MicroSD card expansion only a few sub-variants that support the NFC feature based on their region.

Moto G5 Plus is also compatible with Wi-Fi 802.11 n/g/b/a and Bluetooth 4.2 features similar to Moto G5 and also supports the faster LTE Category 6 feature.
