Shure Announces New True Wireless Earbuds And ANC Over-Ear Headphones

It will be quite interesting to see how it fares.

Shure is a well-known audio company. They recently released two new wireless products at CES 2020. The Aonic 50 are a pair of noise-cancelling headphones designed to compete with Sony and Bose. On the other hand, the Aonic 215 are a pair of true wireless earbuds designed to take on Apple and Beats. For many decades, Shure has been a major name in the music industry. However, it is only at CES 2020 that the company decided to venture into the more expensive end of the consumer market.

Aonic 50

The Aonic 50 is a wireless noise-cancelling headphone and so comfortable that you may never take it off. While it offers 20 hours of battery life, it is not very much compared to some of the others in the market. In fact, there are some models that offer close to 30 hours. Regardless, Shure has built a solid reputation in the audio market about its quality and reliability. Even if you have never tried out the company’s products, you can be sure they are going to be amazing. However, this is one of the first times, Shure has decided to work with high-quality, active noise cancellation headphones to beat the likes of Sony and Bose. It will be quite interesting to see how it fares.

The headphone is likely to come with an app that will let the users tune the ANC to your surroundings. ShurePlus Play is the app’s name and you can decide how much you want to adjust the settings. The app is available for both iOS and Android devices. The nice thing here is that the app has been specifically designed for the latest models. The headphones will be retailed in the US at $399, that makes them settle firmly in the premium market. By doing this, it also becomes direct competitions for Sennheiser headphones. Adam Levine, the American musician, has been signed up by the company to be the brand ambassador of the latest noise-cancelling headphones from Shure.

Shure is releasing this true wireless “sound isolating” earphones at the same time as the Aonic 50. The earphones are designed based on the same design that musicians use for in-ear monitoring on-stage. This has a battery life of up to eight hours with a feature of being able to charge up to three full charges on the go. The Aonic 215 has been specifically built to offer excellent audio quality, comfort, and a secure fit. It is yet to be seen if this model is enough to attract users of Samsung’s Galaxy Buds, Apple’s AirPods Pro, and Powerbeats Pro.

The earphones have been designed such that you can use it for multiple things, including casual wear and gym use. With an arm that comfortably sits behind the ear, some may find it useful while others annoying. The acoustical engineers are responsible for balancing the ambient sounds and acoustics. Shure has only chosen the best for the team. Other details about both the products will be available on they are launched, which is expected to happen sometime in spring 2020.
