Shenzhen-based Chinese smartphone manufacturer Realme has launched C3. It is the sibling with the same appellation that the company launched in India some time ago. But the siblings differ from each other in terms of configuration, specifications, and price in both countries. In India, Realme launched C3 under the tag of ‘Budget Phone,’ while in Thailand, they haven’t attached any such label. In the Thai variant, internal features, camera, fingerprint sensor, memory options are upscaled.

    Realme C3 Phone Specifications

Although Thailand’s variant has few commonalities with the Indian version. It comprises a MediaTek Helio G70 SoC CPU, a 6.52- inch screen, as well as a 5,000 mAh battery. However, the differences are that there’s a third camera, along with a fingerprint sensor.

      • The unique feature of the Thai version is the triple rear camera. It has a 12 MP primary sensor, 2 MP macro lens, and 2 MP depth sensor.
      • Aperture f/1.8 is quite an impressive up-gradation along with 4x electronic zoom. As far as the front camera is concerned, there’s no upgrade from the Indian variant.
      • It is the same 5 MP camera with charm and HDR option having an aperture of f/2.4.
      • MediaTek Helio G70 SoC is an Arm cortex A75 CPU with 2 GHZ and A55 single octa-core clusters.
      • It comprises a dedicated Camera Control Unit (CCU), RSC, and EIS features.

These features specifically improve the video recording performances up to 240fps. As evident, MediaTek Helio G70 and triple camera in the C3 device suit each other well.

Apart from camera support, G70 SoC also has exciting features such as Accelerated positioning, Dual 4G VoLTE supporting 802.11 connectivity. It certainly improves the phone’s performance over Wi-Fi and high internet speed. G70 provides Integrated voice backup and fast AI-performance, which puts the mobile in competition with other gaming smartphones.

The most attractive addition is the rear-mounted fingerprint sensor, which wasn’t present in the Indian version. On the software aspect, the smartphone comes with Android 10 with Realme UI 1.0.

In terms of memory, Realme has launched it with 2 GB, 3 GB, 4 GB, and 8 GB RAM options. Also, there are 32 GB & 64 GB of storage capacity options. The 5000 mAh battery supports reverse charging technology. The whole world is marching towards the USB Type-C charging port. But Realme has continued with USB 2.0 port only.

Realme C3 Price and Launch Date

In India, Realme launched it as a budget phone at Rs 6, 999. In Thailand, they’ve launched Thai siblings at THB 3,999 (equivalent to Rs 9,100). It is available in the Thai online market via Shopee and Lazada from February 20, 2020.

However, this is the price for only the most-basic variant i.e., 32 GB storage with 3 GB RAM. The smartphone maker has not yet revealed the price of other high-end variants. Notably, Realme has launched C3 in Frozen Blue and Blazing Red colors with backside sunrise design.

Xiaomi Vs RealMe: The Brands Are Fighting For Market Dominance in India

Xiaomi’s strategy is aggressive with respect to the prices and the product launches it has made in India. It is the No.1 smartphone brand of India. But, in the last two years, it has faced some tough competition from Oppo’s sub-brand RealMe.

The success story of RealMe in India inspires everyone. It entered the Indian market when Xiaomi was the master in the Indian smartphone industry. At that time, it was not easy for any other Chinese brand to enter the market because already a Chinese brand is been making a strong presence in the hearts of consumers of India.

But, RealMe fought and chased Xiaomi hard in the market. Now, RealMe has been ruling for a long time, and from nothing in 2018, it has grown its market share in 2019.

RealMe is chasing Xiaomi’s dominance in India

RealMe has now risen to become the fourth biggest smartphone brand in India in the third quarter of 2019, according to IDC. It gained popularity for similar reasons that of Xiaomi, which has been selling its phones in the country since 2015. Xiaomi is also growing rapidly in India by offering a good price-to-quality ratio on its Smartphones.

The Chinese smartphone is dominating India’s smartphone market

Xiaomi shipped more phones than it ever has before in the first quarter with 12.6 million units. Vivo and Oppo are third and fifth respectively in the competition. This means Vivo and Oppo’s parent company BBK Electronics owns three of India’s top five brands. Samsung is the only vendor among the top five companies to record a fall this quarter, but it’s still India’s second-largest smartphone brand though.

Some months ago, RealMe ranked third overall in sales during the Diwali holiday season in India by the Counterpoint Research. This means that the company is surpassing huge players like OnePlus, LG and others with its hit in the smartphone market.

    The future of RealMe

Although Counterpoint Research’s figures indicate that RealMe had no offline sales practically during the period. The brand is fortunately revealed its plan to deliver offline sales in 150 cities of India by 2020.

Previously, RealMe also declared its aim to expand to other countries in Asia, along with Africa and the Middle East. If the brand can preserve its momentum and also offer offline sales, they can achieve even more impressive figures in 2020 for sure.

    Bottom Lines

There will be a time that RealMe will take over all other brands in no time as it is adapting the market changes very quickly. Xiaomi, on the other hand, is working really hard to not allowing RealMe to take over its market at any cost.

Realme Launches Phone With 48MP quad-camera setup; 5000mAh battery

Smartphone manufacturers in the budget smartphone space constantly refresh older models to include the latest features and also regularly push out unique new models to try and dominate the market.

They need to stay relevant – and launching better devices that boast the latest hardware is the only way to go.

Realme introduced the Realme 5 back in August this year. The entry-level device sold well, however, other manufacturers like Xiaomi and Vivo responded by launching devices like the Note 8 and the U10 respectively.

Realme now wants to make a comeback and has recently launched the Realme 5s

It is a refresh of the Realme 5 but comes with some significant hardware improvements in the camera department.

Unlike the Realme 5, the Realme 5s is available with a minimum storage capacity of 64GB and a minimum of 4GB of RAM.

The 5s is also available in a new color – ‘Crystal Red.’

The device is competitively priced; however, comparing it with other equally priced devices will help us learn if it is worth buying.

    Specifications and Comparison

As mentioned, the Realme 5s comes with a minimum storage capacity of 64GB. A 128GB model is also available; however, the RAM capacity stays the same at 4GB in both variants.

The 6.5-inch HD LCD screen includes a small waterdrop notch.

The notch is a common characteristic of smartphones in the current market. However, phones like the Redmi Note 8 feature a Full HD screen at about the same price.

The screen is enforced by Gorilla Glass 3, making it significantly more durable.

It comes with a Snapdragon 655 processor, which is typical of a phone at this price. Both the Vivo U10 and the Redmi Note 8 have the same chipset.

    Realme 5S Macro lense

The chipset is robust and supplies the user with enough power to play demanding games at low settings.

Multitasking on the 5s feels excellent, and slowdowns and lags are a rare occurrence.

The phone houses a high-capacity 5000mAh battery that will last the average user two days on a single charge.

The box includes a 10W fast charger, which makes charging the large battery slightly faster.

The cameras are where the Realme 5s shines. The phone boasts a quad-camera setup, which is a huge selling point considering the price.

The 48MP+8MP+2MP+2MP cameras do a great job of capturing stunning shots even in low light conditions.

    Realme 5s Camera

It is the best camera setup offered at this price. The device completely blows most competitors out of the water when it comes to supplying a value for money.

The 13MP front camera captures stunningly vivid selfies.

The phone is big – one of the biggest in the budget smartphone space. The large size, coupled with the larger battery, the fantastic software based on the latest iteration of Android, and the excellent cameras make it a great buy.

Although the Redmi Note 8 offers identical features, the 5s is better priced and has a larger blueprint.

The Realme 5s is perfect for anyone looking for a bang for the buck device.
