Samsung Galaxy S20: News, Leaks, Release Date, Specs, and Galaxy S11 Rumours

Among all of Samsung’s Galaxy models, the S series has always been highly anticipated. While the S9 was a regular enough smartphone, the Galaxy S10 line-up brought something impressive into the market with its triple rear cameras and an Infinity-O design for the display. The series, in fact, even featured a budget model! In the next few months, Samsung will unveil the Galaxy S20. One thing that might confuse you and other users is the fact that the company is not going ahead with the Galaxy S11 name.

What do we know so far?

We do know that the Galaxy S20 is likely to have three versions. The model’s design has already been revealed – more on this later! And we also know that it isn’t going to be called the S11! On the downside, the phone is expected to be priced higher. Samsung is planning to announce it on February 11, 2019. Last year’s flagship, the Galaxy S10 could still be a worthy option after the S20’s specs are released. We are not sure how the S20, although certainly a flagship, is likely to compete with the S10 in terms of specs, price, and value. It is going to be a tough job to beat the S10’s super-fast performance, stunning triple rear cameras, and a great display.

    The Different S20 Models

Most of the times in the past, Galaxy S series usually feature two releases with one regular model and another a Plus size variant. With S10, Samsung decided to do something outside the norm and released a third option, the S10e, touted to be a budget variant. Maybe the S20 will follow a similar pattern of release.

    Samsung Galaxy S20 Plus
    Samsung Galaxy S20 Plus

A couple of months back, Evan Blass, a popular tipster, shared three screen sizes for the different S20 variants. This includes a 6.4-inch, a 6.7-inch, and a 6.9-inch model. The following month, reports emerged that Samsung will no longer be manufacturing ‘e’ variants of its smartphones in 2020. Instead, the company is planning to release a regular version, a Plus model, and an Ultra variant. Basically, this means that we can look forward to seeing Galaxy S20, S20+, and S20 Ultra 5G in the market quite soon.

    S20 Design and More

The Samsung Galaxy S20 is a bit different from the popular S10. The display will feature a punch-hole camera, located at the centre of the screen. This is pretty similar to the Note 10 model. With regards to the rear camera setup, the S20 will feature a vertical setting into of the horizontal one that we are used to. The phone has three camera sensors. The S20 Plus and S20 Ultra variants are known to have more. The S20+ is similar in design with the same punch-hole camera at the centre. At the back, we see an addition camera which could be a time-of-flight sensor. Coming to the S20 Ultra, the design stays the same, but the screen size is 6.9-inches. The rear camera features Samsung’s “100X Space Zoom” branding.

Among one of the first 2020 flagships, it is yet to be seen how it works out.

Galaxy S11+ Will Include A Periscope Camera

Ice Universe is one of the more popular tipsters out there. He recently shared details about the Samsung Galaxy S11+’s rear camera setup. The render the shared displays the S11+’s rear-facing cameras, including the periscope one. The latest smartphone by Samsung has been seen in CAD-based renders recently. According to Ice Universe, these renders are not quite accurate. However, he has promised to update with more information.

Several leaks have given us some insight into how the upcoming Samsung smartphone might look. While it was initially believed that the phone’s rear camera setup might look like domino tiles, recent reports tell us that it would not be so. Some other reports suggest that Samsung might add a sensor for improving low light photography on the phone. The Galaxy S11+ will run on Snapdragon 865 chipset and its Exynos 9830 processor.

    S11+ Camera Details

What was not accurate was the camera alignment at the rear. Although they are shown to be aligned in the render, they are actually all over the place. The Galaxy S11+ will come with a periscope camera which can be seen quite clearly in the shared pictures. The phone is likely t come with a main, ultra-wide-angle, and periscope cameras. The S11+ periscope camera’s module will be square-shaped instead of circular, making it more noticeable. Since the main camera is the largest sensor, it is located in the middle.

All the three cameras are neatly aligned towards the left in the image. However, it will not be so. Apparently, some cameras are missing on the right side of the module. The Time-of-Flight or ToF sensor will also be present at the back, which is currently missing. Besides this, an LED flash will be seen alongside the camera module as well.

Despite all the information we have managed to gather regarding the S11+’s camera, we are still lacking some crucial details. It looks as if the phone will feature five cameras, but we don’t know what the last one would be. New details are expected to release soon. While the render shows a different alignment, the rear-facing camera will be properly aligned. Check out its battery details here.

    Release of S11+

The camera module will be placed on the top left side of the phone. While it will protrude a bit, it will not wobble too much. The phone’s backside is also expected to be curved. The S11+ will be made using metal and glass. The physical buttons are placed on the right. While the phone will have volume control buttons, power, and lock button, it will not have a 3.5mm headphone jack. The smartphone will have a curved display with extremely thin bezels. With regards to the front camera, it is likely to be located at the centre.

The Samsung S11+ device will be launched along with the Galaxy S11 and S11e models. In fact, the Galaxy Fold 2 could be released at the same time as well. According to rumours, the smartphone could be launched on February 18, 2018.

Samsung Galaxy S11 Family Said to Offer 3 Display Sizes, 5 Different Variants

Samsung Galaxy S11 family is expected to be launched in three different screen size options in five different variants. This new range of devices come after the Samsung Galaxy S10 lineup. The S10 range of devices was released earlier in the year in four variants – the Galaxy S10, Galaxy S10+, Galaxy S10e, and Galaxy S10 5G. The latest series has only one variant with 5G support.

However, the company is geared up to release the Galaxy S11 models with both 5G and 4G LTE support. The largest of the three display sizes is rumoured to be 6.9 inches. The smallest one could be launched under the name Galaxy S11e, which will basically act as Galaxy S10e’s successor. This phone’s screen is expected to be either 6.2-inch or 6.4-inch. The regular Galaxy S11 will come with a 6.7-inch screen size while the Galaxy S11+ model will have the largest 6.9-inch display.

The Different Variants – Samsung Galaxy S11 Family

There are also rumours going around that mention that all the five variants would feature curved-edge displays. In other words, it would be totally different to the Galaxy S10e that came with a flat panel. Regarding connectivity, the device should be offered in both 5G and LTE variants for the smaller S11 models. The larger one would only be released with 5G support. Blass’ tweet tells us that these devices might be launched sometime in mid to late February. The timing is nothing new for Samsung with most of its smartphones launching at the same time of the year. The launch event might take place in San Francisco, California.

There are also rumours making rounds that the Galaxy S11 might feature Samsung’s latest 108-megapixel ISOCELL HMX sensor. If true, it would offer the users better camera features like Optical Image Stabilisation and 5x optical zoom. Some reports mention that the company might be planning to use the 108-megapixel sensor’s second-generation version. The company is not planning on offering only 5G support for its latest line, possibly so as to keep up with the demand for its current 4G-only models as well. The S11 phone will have a tall 20:9 aspect ratio. However, it is not known for certain if the punch-hole camera seen in S10 phones will continue here.

The company could release the Galaxy S11 family with Exynos 9830 SoC for international markets. For the US regions, Qualcomm Snapdragon 865 might be used. Samsung 108-Megapixel Camera: Camera App Suggests Imminent Launch of a Galaxy Phone With 108-Megapixel Camera

While a couple of Xiaomi phones features a 108-megapixel ISOCELL Bright HMX camera sensor by Samsung, but Samsung is yet to release anything along those lines. There has been no Galaxy-branded smartphone featuring a 108-megapixel so far. There are plenty of speculation if the next Galaxy model, the Galaxy S11, could possibly support Samsung’s 108-Megapixel Camera. So far, it was all idle talk, but recently some evidence has come to lights which tells us that Samsung is actually working on a phone with a 108-megapixel camera. In the latest One UI 2.0 beta build, the code of Samsung Camera app has image output support at 108-megapixels, indicating that the company may be working on a 108-megapixel camera and it could be due soon.

This came after Xiaomi’s code was looked into recently and it looks like they are working on a phone that can take 8K 30fps videos. After Samsung’s code was prodded and poked, users have concluded that the S11 may be able to do the same.

    Samsung’s 108-Megapixel Camera

The latest One UI 2.0 beta update features additional support for 12,000 x 9,000 pixel photos. This basically translates to 108-megapixels. The usual aspect ratio of 108-megapixel photos is 4:3, according to the app’s code. But the company may add more options, such as 20:9. This is also apparent in the app, but this would be at a lower resolution of 4,032 x 1,800 pixels. The fact that this resolution was found in the works suggests that the company is working on an ultra-widescreen display model – one that would not have any interference from cameras and buttons.

For the photos themselves, the company’s 108-megapixel sensor could depend on pixel binning technology to stack four pixels together to produce pictures at 27-megapixel resolution. They could also turn to 3×3 pixel array to merge nine pixels and produce 12-megapixel photos. Doing things this way will reduce the image size by a great deal while also making the picture brighter thanks to the “super pixel” generated by merging 4 or 9 pixels.

    Samsung Galaxy S11

Many believe that Samsung Galaxy S11 would be the first Samsung phone to feature a 108-megapixel camera sensor. Due to this, the buzz around the phone has been steadily increasing. Many think that the company will use a second-gen 108-megapixel camera sensor. This is the same that is present in Xiaomi’s Mi Mix Alpha and the Mi CC9 Pro. The results are pretty remarkable. The phone could possibly use a periscope-style camera module that can give the users a 5x optical zoom. Samsung also has plans to offer the Galaxy S11 in three display sizes in about five variants. The phone will be released in mid-February.

Samsung’s 108-megapixel camera sensor is already in use in Xiaomi phones. So, it only makes sense that the latest flagship phone features this camera. How well this would work out for Samsung can only be seen after they release the phone. We hope things go well in their attempt to integrate 8K video feature in the phones as well.

  • The Samsung Galaxy S11 Will Have A Massive Battery, According To Leak

The Samsung Galaxy S11 Will Have A Massive Battery, According To Leak

According to a leak, it looks like Samsung Galaxy S11 will have a larger than usual battery. Even the Samsung Galaxy S11e (most likely to be called this and also the smallest in the Galaxy series), might be supported by a 4,000mAh battery. Compared to its predecessor, Galaxy S10e, this is a massive improvement. Brace yourself – the Galaxy S11+ may have a battery as huge as 5,000mAh. One thing we should note is that a larger battery does not automatically mean longer battery life. It is just as well that the phone has a larger battery since the many new features that the phone has will be requiring the bigger battery. Besides the news flash about a larger battery, they have a higher refresh rate of 120Hz and could possibly skip the 90Hz display altogether, leaving devices like OnePlus 7 and Pixel 4 far behind.

One other reason for a big battery could be the introduction of 5G. Since 5G would a standard fixture in all upcoming models, a larger battery would come in handy since it tends to use more energy. Most companies would need to think about upgrading their batteries once 5G takes over.

    Design

Currently, it is not very clear if a larger battery could impact the build. The truth is that if it is not too bulky to handle, most users would not mind too much. Considering the Apple example, not many users were upset about the iPhone 11 being slightly thicker than iPhone Xs. The phone can now last quite some time longer, so much so that users can easily for a day and sometimes, even two!

Basic Features Of Samsung Galaxy S11

Samsung’s next-to-be-released flagship phone is all set. Besides the larger battery, the camera quality and performance is expected to be wonderful as well. The camera will feature a 108-megapixel primary sensor with a periscope camera supporting 5x zoom. In addition to this, it is believed that Samsung could possibly add 3D sensors to both the front and rear camera systems! Another cool feature coming to the Galaxy S11 model is the 3D face recognition, which works in a manner similar to the iPhone.

Latest News About Samsung Galaxy S11 Battery

As we have already seen, the new battery is likely to be 4,000 mAh. It is an awesome inclusion in a phone that is not very large itself. It is thought to be similar to the Note10 battery. Samsung has made some changes and tweaked the design a bit to make it better. In fact, it is suggested that a 5,000 mAh battery for the Galaxy S11+ model would not be a surprise either! This would support the phone to provide better 5G utility and have higher screen refresh rates. For comparison’s sake, the iPhone 11 feature only a 3,046 mAh battery. It looks like this phone would be able to last considerably longer. The Samsung Galaxy S11 should be launched in coming February.
