WhatsApp New Updates Adds Brand New Features To Transform App Experience

The latest WhatsApp new updates will bring the users a range of new features. First seen by WaBetaInfo, the new update is mainly for iPhone users through Apple’s App Store. Version number 2.19.10 will now allow the users to add stickers to photos and videos. They will now also be able to reply personally to individuals in group chats. In some cases, some of these features are already available for Android users. Users sending GIF, pictures, or videos via the app will be now able to add an emoji or a sticker. The uber-popular messaging app is all geared up for four new features set to release in 2020.

    3D Touch technology

If you want to reach out privately to a user in the group chat, simply tap on the user’s name within the group chat. There is another feature that is specially designed to make use of the iPhone’s 3D Touch technology. This allows the user to see a preview of the status updates posted by their family and friends. This feature can only be enjoyed if your smartphone supports 3D Touch technology.

    Cryptocurrency and No Read Notification

When you check out someone’s status update, WhatsApp will not send the read receipt. You can make use of this to see the first status without sending the users any read notification. Indian users may rejoice since a WhatsApp cryptocurrency could soon be introduced in the Indian region. WhatsApp, as many of you may know, is owned by Facebook. The latter is working on cryptocurrency for the platform. The company first began working on a cryptocurrency after a high-level management reshuffle. The Independent heard from a Facebook spokesperson, “Like many other companies, Facebook is exploring ways to leverage the power of blockchain technology. This new small team is exploring many different applications.”

    Security

Besides the other features, WhatsApp new updates will also soon gain the ability to allow you to protect your chats with a fingerprint. So far, this works only on Android smartphones. In addition to this, you will now be able to decide who can add you to a group chat. Users will also be able to respond privately to a message sent within a group chat. The developers have done their best to update the software so as to provide the users with a secure and comfortable experience. The effort is commendable although just how useful these features will be is yet to be seen.

    Dark Mode

WhatsApp is also planning to bring a dark mode theme. While there have been speculations regarding it for a long time, it looks as if it is finally slated for a release this year. Besides the dark mode, WhatsApp has also been working on two looks – one in pitch black and the other in greyscale. The latter is designed to save battery, while the former is created to help users ease their eyes as they use their phones in low-light surroundings or at night. Facebook Messenger and Instagram also have a Dark Mode.

  • Whatsapp Update Finally Brings Long-Awaited Security Feature

Whatsapp Update Finally Brings Long-Awaited Security Feature

Users of the well-acclaimed messaging app Whatsapp, have a new thing to boast of. The application recently released an update that brought with it a feature that users have been craving for since time immemorial; the ability to unlock the chatting application with fingerprint sensors.

Whatsapp Update Finally Brings Long-Awaited Security Feature

Now, for IOS users, this is nothing new to them as they had received the release of the new feature earlier in 2019. Android users, however, had to wait a whole year before getting the new update. There were several rumours all through the better part of last year about the security patch.

Its being rolled off to the platform and a lot of counterfeit sites were created through which android users were supposedly supposed to acquire this new update. But to a lot of user’s disappointment, the application had this feature exclusively available to IOS only.

    Screen Lock Security Feature

When enabled, you WhatsApp will automatically lock when the screen locks or as per the settings and preferences of the user, and can only be unlocked when the user puts their finger on the fingerprint scanner. Much like the usual screen unlocker for the phone.

For most phones, the application may be locked even after the user unlocks the screen of the phone. This might have been arguably time-wasting but then again, how long would it take you to simply rest your finger on the scanner and lift it off?

    Face Unlock Feature

There were also rumours that there is a patch that allows face unlock or face verification to unlock. Well, unless you are talking about an IOS device then this rumour is sadly not true and I would like to assure you that this update mainly focused on the fingerprint scanner.

Facebook is yet to also mention anything on the face ID unlock for any android devices so for the moment there is no reason to get over-excited here. Let’s just enjoy the new minor update that has been released and hope that there are far much better things that are in store for the future.

The WhatsApp application has been widely used by a lot of people. There are a lot of instances through which the application itself has changed the game in terms of business and jobs. The app (much like its counterpart, Facebook), has come a long way since its debut in 2009 and has been making common updates ever since.

There are many enterprises and businesses that depend on these services to communicate with clients and customers. It’s regular updates such as the recent one that has gone a long way into making sure that the application is the giant it is today in the world of communication.

It is safe to say that WhatsApp has played a big role. It is changing how people virtually communicate. A lot of reputable applications took off from using this application’s original foundation and restructuring it.

    Bottom Line

After this security feature update hype, users are now hoping to see is the new WhatsApp dark mode. Everyone is so eager to see this mode’s adaptation on WhatsApp. But I guess we’ll just have to wait and see what they do with this feature on a large scale.

  • WhatsApp Update: Three New Features Of Whatsapp

WhatsApp Update: Three New Features Of Whatsapp

WhatsApp is the favorite messaging platform enjoyed by millions of users all over the world. It is catering to requests of upgrades and feature enhancements from users. WhatsApp recently rolled out three important updates that both Android users as well as iPhone users can reckon with.

    Three New Features Of Whatsapp

While these updates have not substantially overhauled the application, it has certainly added features that have been long-sought to make the application more intuitive.  Here’s a look at what these three WhatsApp updates have in store.

    WhatsApp Call Waiting

WhatsApp is getting common to make phone calls across its users. Also, these phone calls are certainly a convenient feature for the users. However, in the current version of WhatsApp, there is no form of intimation or alert if you are on one WhatsApp call. Hence and you can’t receive another call parallelly from another contact. A missed call alert would flash only when you are done hanging upon your current call.

The recent updates of WhatsApp now offer a call waiting option. Now a user on a call will be intimated of another call coming in alongside a notification at the top of their device. A user thus has the option of declining the incoming call or ending the current call to answer the new incoming call.

This current upgrade, however, does not offer the option of putting one call on hold to answer another. There is hope that WhatsApp will introduce the basic feature of call hold in the coming updates.

    WhatsApp Group Chat Invites

WhatsApp users all through the past and current versions have been added to WhatsApp groups without any prior intimation or consent. Finally, in the current WhatsApp update, users have the discretion to select those contacts who can and can’t add them to group chats.

This segmentation can be done using three options available in the settings of the new upgrade. They include:

      • Everyone
      • My contacts
      • My contacts except

As the names suggest, choosing everyone will allow even those individuals to add you to groups who are not part of your contacts list. This way you can block out-group advertisements and promotional WhatsApp groups initiated by strangers.

Going with ‘My Contacts’ will enable only those users whose number you have saved in your contact list can add you to groups. Finally, if you wish to exclude a certain few from your contact list from adding you to WhatsApp groups, use the ‘My Contacts Except’ feature option. These options are available on the Account-Privacy-Groups path in your settings menu.

    WhatsApp Reminders

WhatsApp update is one of the much-waited things for users. Nothing works as well as a message when it comes to daily reminders for your to-do list! You no longer have to rely on friends messaging you with WhatsApp’s all-new reminders feature. Any.do is a popular reminders application that is used by over 10 million users worldwide and the latest WhatsApp update can now be synced with your favorite messaging application.

What this facilitates is setting a reminder for tasks to be done by you on Any.do. At the designated time fixed by you, you will receive a message on your WhatsApp in your ongoing conversation window with Any.do reminding you to execute the task. This service, however, comes at a cost of $5.99 per month at a flat rate no matter your usage or your geographical location.

    Conclusion

Can’t wait to enjoy these new features? Upgrade your existing WhatsApp from the Google Play Store or the iPhone App Store. These features are available for both Android and iOS smartphones.

  • Whatsapp Android Update Finally Brings Long-Needed New Feature For Android Users

Whatsapp Android Update Finally Brings Long-Needed New Feature For Android Users

WhatsApp is one of the world’s most popular messaging app. While it has a ton of useful features, there is always space for improvement. The latest update Whatsapp Android Update is something that could save many of us some grief. Currently, it is not very easy to see and confirm who you are sending images or pictures to. Where users only see the icon of the receiver’s profile picture, now users would be able to see the contact name right below the picture. The previous system allowed users to make mistakes by sending pictures to the wrong person since no validation or confirmation was asked before you hit the send button.

The latest update is here to help us all out. Now, when you send a picture to the receiver, you will see their contact name clearly right under the profile picture icon. This is intended to work as a confirmation measure that you are sending it to the person you think you are. This WhatsApp update is only for users using the app on their devices. Huawei, Samsung, and Sony smartphone owners will all receive the update shortly. iPhone users already have the feature on their version of WhatsApp. This came as part of their latest iOS version update.

Besides this update, did you know there are many more things you can do with your WhatsApp than simply changing profile pictures and chatting with friends and family? WhatsApp is working on releasing two other major updates real soon. The first feature basically allows users to merger WhatsApp with other messaging services. This means that you can merge WhatsApp with other Facebook-owned services, such as Facebook Messenger and Instagram. You would be able to have continuous conversations with people regardless of the platform they are using. Naturally, this will allow users to text each other on a single platform, creating better messaging experiences.

Another update which many are waiting for with bated breath includes Facebook’s cryptocurrency Libra. This is expected to be introduced for WhatsApp sometime in 2020. With this, users would be able to make and receive payments through the app. It has been designed specifically to ensure that it is highly user-friendly and secure. While the company mentioned it would be released in 2020, the actual date for the same is yet to be released.

    WABetaInfo and Self-Destructing Messages

WhatsApp is planning to bring another new feature – self-destructing messages. While platforms like Telegram and Snapchat have had this for a while, WhatsApp is releasing it just now. Good news is that this feature will work smoothly with the app’s upcoming dark mode. WABetaInfo is a publication that focuses solely on WhatsApp. It goes through the beta versions and identifies any possible upcoming features and it is considered to be pretty reliable. According to WABetaInfo, this would be available under Group Settings called ‘Delete Messages’. It will show the users the number of timeframes in which a message will be viewable.

  • WhatsApp will not be accessible to older smartphones next year

WhatsApp will not be accessible to older smartphones next year

WhatsApp has always been in the news for all right and wrong reasons. This time, it is regarding support for outdated devices. The instant messaging app was owned by Facebook in 2014 for $19 billion to integrate the platform to other services like Instagram and Messenger.

WhatsApp will not be accessible to older smartphones next year

WhatsApp has officially confirmed that it will stop working on millions of older smartphones across the world in 2020. Windows Phones are the first of these devices which will be locked permanently by December 31, 2019. As of February 1, 2020, iPhones running older iOS versions like iOS 8 will no longer get support for WhatsApp, apart from Android devices running 2.3.7 or older versions.

WhatsApp has posted those details on its official blog, along with its FAQ page. The Facebook-owned WhatsApp has officially confirmed and said, “People who are still using these operating systems still cannot verify their existing accounts again and create new accounts on WhatsApp.”

Microsoft also ended its support for Windows 10 Mobile OS and WhatsApp is also taking the same step from December 31, 2019, for all Windows Phones.

If you are still using Windows phone and don’t want to lose track of all your details and chats on December 31, 2019, there is still a chance for you to save your chats.

      • First of all, open chat that you don’t want to lose and export to a newer device. Then, select “Group Info”
      • Select “Export Chat”. You can either download the chat with/without adding the media. Select your choice and export all the chats.

In addition, WhatsApp has also confirmed that the app will keep running for specific devices like JioPhone and JioPhone 2 which are running KaiOS 2.5.1 and above. The Facebook-owned instant messaging app has also assured that their decision to discontinue support for older devices will not annoy most users.

To be specific, here are the operating systems which will no longer get support from WhatsApp from next year

      • iOS 8 or older versions
      • Android 2.3.7 or older versions
      • All Windows phones w.e.f. December 31, 2019

Here are the operating systems which are still getting support from WhatsApp and the company recommends users to replace the following devices –

      • iPhone running iOS 9 or later versions
      • Android devices running Android 4.0.3 or later versions
      • JioPhone, JioPhone 2 and other devices running KaiOS 2.5.1 and above

Recently, WhatsApp added the familiar call waiting feature for Android, while it already introduced the same feature for iPhone weeks ago. When Android users got another WhatsApp call in the middle of a current WhatsApp call, the incoming call was being disconnected automatically.

Before the update, users were unable to see any notification about the missed calls when they finished the existing call. With this update, users can now pick another call while on an existing call.

    Bottom Line

WhatsApp constantly updates itself to come up with more new features to provide smooth call experience and messaging for the users. Currently, the company is working to introduce its “Dark Mode” feature in the coming weeks.
