New Competition In The Fitness Band Market- The Playfit 53

Fitness trackers are one of those gadgets which are in high demand these days. We can also see many other companies jumping into this segment due to heavy demand from the market. Recently, I came across a New Delhi based brand, which is a start-up as of now. The product name is PlayFit 53 and it is a fitness band.

New Competition In The Fitness Band Market- The Playfit 53

The company also offers other products such as smartwatches. The band seems to be quite interesting, so I bought one for myself. I have been using it for a month now, and now it’s high time I share honest reviews with the world.

You can just go through the review as I am going to give you all the details about the product, be it the pros and cons and whether the watch is preferable for daily use or not.

    Specifications

First and foremost, let’s get into the specifications. So, basically the band is equipped with-

      • 96-inch 2.5D glass TFT LCD colour display along with a full torch UI
      • Bluetooth 4.2 with connectivity to Android [4.4 and above] and iOS [9.0 and above].
      • Nordic nRF52832 Chipset
      • Heart rate tracker, pedometer and it also monitors your sleep [via the app in phone]
      • Hand gesture sensors which enable the user to click pictures by just flicking the wrist.
      • Supports 14 sport modes like running, walking, skipping, tennis, etc.
      • Gives call and notification alert
      • 7-10 hours of battery life
      • Dimensions- 24 x 2.2 x 1.3 cm, weight- 22.7 g
      • Priced at just Rs. 1,999 only

    Design and Display

The all-new PlayFit 53 is quite a decent product and it does not look like a funky band. It is a subtle and simple fitness band with a sturdy look and super comfortable straps. The material of the band is not that premium but its curved design fits nicely on your wrist.

The display supports touch and different colours. The size of the band is similar to the Mi Band 4 and has a button at the bottom.

    Software, Connectivity and the performance

The connectivity of the band is very easy as the users just have to install the Play app and register themselves on the app. You just have to enter some basic data about yourself like name, age, gender and you are good to go.

The band has a touch-based UI and supports both Android and iOS devices. The navigations are quite simple and easy to use. The home screen has a very basic layout, which displays all your essential data.

The issue with me was that the raise to wake feature did not work for me very well. I have to press the capacitive button whenever I need to wake the screen up.

    Battery Life

The band usually lasts up to a week on a single charge and it does not need any separate charger. The capsule of the band attaches to the USB directly.

    Conclusion

As a start-up, PlayFit has done a great job in the fitness band market. It lacks in display quality and the built-up material quality. If the brand comes up with a solution to these issues and improves the quality of material, the band is a great choice. The PlayFit 53 is a considerable option if you are looking for a fitness band under Rs. 2000.

New TWS Earbuds From Xiaomi May Be On The Way

It looks like Xiaomi has released true wireless earbuds that look quite similar to AirPods. However, it looks like a new generation of this product is out for release. The latest TWS Earbuds From Xiaomi looks similar to the existing one. This has got many fans wondering about the reliability of the source claiming their existence. It also casts a shadow on the fact that might not be released. The photo that accompanies the next-gen version seems to be one of the AirDots Pro 2 models, also called the Xiaomi Air 2 Bluetooth Earphones in some places.

    TWS Earbuds From Xiaomi
    TWS Earbuds From Xiaomi

TWS earbuds are usually popular. They make life very convenient. There are, at the moment, three TWS Earbuds From Xiaomi in the market. They are the Xiaomi TWS Air 2, Redmi AirDots and Xiaomi AirDots Youth version. While these are not Xiaomi’s flagship products, we nonetheless can help ourselves looking forward to the upcoming rumoured product.

It could also be possible that the platform had used the picture of the older model as a placeholder while waiting to replace it with the real one when the company markets it. If we move ahead on the assumption that these earbuds exist, then they could be called as the Mi True Wireless Earphones 2S. The suffix could possibly imply that it could be a budget model. Due to this, there might not be a lot of re-design. Regardless, there has been no official word from Xiaomi itself, either about the launch or its price or any other factor.

  • Garmin Vivomove Style vs. Vivomove Luxe

Garmin Vivomove Style vs. Vivomove Luxe

Initiated as a helpful tool and later swayed by fashion, watches have found their place on the wrists of great people. Along with the gradual evolution, the intelligence upgradation has led to an increase in the smartness of even the watches. This leads to the invention of a great number of smartwatches to date.

Garmin Vivomove Style vs. Vivomove Luxe

Many famous brands came out with creative and technologically advanced smartwatches recently. Initially, there were traditional watches. These could only show us time. But the smartwatches these days have multiple features, like heart-rate sensing, counting steps. Some more are SMS, and calls receiving features, linking with our smartphones, and much more.

About Garmin Vivomove Style and Vivomove Luxe

Garmin Vivomove Style and Vivomove Luxe are a bridge between traditional watches and the smartwatches. These watches are apparently very decent looking but have multiple hidden features to offer. Both have hidden AMOLED touchscreen display. These watches look ordinary but can do much more than solely showing us time.

Garmin Vivomove Style vs. Vivomove Luxe

Both the watches are almost the same in terms of their features. But if we talk about what’s different, we are more inclined towards stating its outer appearance. Garmin Vivomove Style is simply stylish. It caters to many needs and offers multiple features at comparatively low rates.

Vivomove Luxe is more inclined towards its fashionable looks. It is designed keeping in mind multiple features coupled with its classy looks. This watch is expensive than Garmin Vivomove Style, given its looks. It comes with a stainless-steel case and bezel. You can buy its three variants in terms of color, i.e. Gold, Silver, and Rose Gold.

There are two types of bands available, an Italian leather band and a Milanese metal band. Garmin Vivomove Style has Gorilla Glass 3 lens. But the more expensive one, i.e. Vivomove Luxe acquires a dome-shaped and Sapphire Crystal Lens.

    Conclusion

In all, if we talk about the features, both of them are almost the same. They offer the same technological advancements and at the same time, the same pitfalls. The only difference lies in their appearance. If you are a fashionable person and have enough fortunes to spend extra on Vivomove Luxe, for its looks. Well! Go for Vivomove Luxe. But if you want the decent, classy looks along with the features both have to offer, go for Garmin Vivomove Style, it being more affordable.

  • Review- Soundpeats Truengine 2

    Review- Soundpeats Truengine 2

SoundPEATS is one of the leading makers of the headphones. If you observe the Amazon marketplace, you can see that the company is dominating the Australian market of wireless headphones. The company occupies the top 3 spots in the Amazon market. Moreover, it has made some space in the Canadian and US markets as well. The previous products also have made some good impact on various marketplaces and the consumers are looking for more such products.

    Review- Soundpeats Truengine 2

    What Is In The Box?

The box is a cute little case. You can reveal the earphones by opening it. The case is not that secured as far as safety is concerned. If you open the case in the wrong way, there are chances of the earphones to fall down. It contains a short USB cable for charging which you can plug into the case directly. It also contains a set of extra earbuds, a user manual, and customer care booklets.

Are They Useful In A Helmet?

The earphones are not designed for motorcycle helmets. The outer part of the earphone is a bit larger which won’t be comfortable if you wear them under helmets. Other wireless earphones which are smaller in size can be useful in this case.

You can still wear them under a helmet if you are comfortable. But make sure to be cautious when you take your helmet off. As in such a case, you may drop the earphones down and it can even lead to damage to the earbuds. For someone, who is not that careful when it comes to taking care of small stuff, this can be a disadvantage.

Another issue is that you cannot use the Google assistant feature while your helmet is on. The sound does not reach to the earphones while riding. Therefore, they are not a great option for wearing under a helmet.

About Their Look, Feel And Weight

To be honest the SoundPEATS Truengine 2s reminds me of the old Bluetooth earphones. But, these earphones do not feel heavy or bulky in the ears and fits perfectly in the ears. There are flashy indicator lights on the sides.

The lights provide you with battery indication and the current status of the earphones. The already-fitted medium size was perfect for my ears, and the provided smaller and larger sizes worked well for friends I tried them out on. I wear these earbuds while running and cycling. Not even for once did the earbuds feel like they are falling out, despite wearing them during cycling and running.

The SoundPEATS Truengine 2 is noticeable in my ears, and not even heavy. They Weigh 6.1g and are the lightest wireless earphones I have ever bought.

    Are They Comfortable?

After all the running and jumping during my workouts, the earphones still stick to my ears without falling even once. They are quite comfortable in use and if you feel they are not fitting in your ears, you can change the ear tips as per your comfort.

You can wear them even when you are climbing or trekking and will not experience any difficulties. The tight-fitting of the earphones give you a nice experience of zero noise disturbances. Its noise cancellation capacity is really awesome. It gives a nice audio quality and you can even listen when someone’s talking to you.

The problem with the earphones is that it does not increase or decrease the volume quickly. The changes in the volumes are delayed which results in a small disappointment. But, SoundPEATS claims that their clear voice capture allows the earphones to deliver clear calls even in noisy surroundings. This feature adds a point to its advantages.

    Its Battery Life

The SoundPEATS Truengine 2 gives you a battery life of up to 7 hours continuously. This is impressive because the apple AirPods and Bose Soundsport offer a battery life of 5 hours.

SoundPEATS case holds a battery backup of 30 hours which is very impressive as compared to other brands. Once you charge it, you don’t have to charge it for a week at least. This is something you won’t see in any other brand within this price range. Therefore, its battery life and backup are awesome.

    Controls And Extra Features

You can easily control the SoundPEATS Truengine 2 by touching the face of the earbuds. There are a few commands it takes like skipping songs, taking calls, call to a voice assistant, etc. But, there is no option to control volume which makes it a drawback. So whenever you are running or cycling, you have to keep your phone handy to control the volumes.

The touch sensors are not that good because you have to press the right spot of the earphones. Only the bottom half of the earphone is touch-sensitive. So, you have to look for the perfect spot to press and use the features. You cannot use the touch sensors in the first attempt every time.

    Conclusion

If you are looking for wireless earphones that won’t fall off your ears, then you can opt for these. The SoundPEATSTruEngine 2 gives a nice grip to your ears even when you are running, working out or cycling. The earphones deliver fantastic sound quality with utmost comfort at the same time.

There may be some occasional faults that you may experience like an audio drop, synching problems, etc. But, one thing is for sure that the earphones are not a disappointment for its users. These faults are not that major, but the quality and comfort it offers is something really awesome in this price range.

The biggest issue you will face is with the touch controls. They are quite annoying at times as you can’t operate them in a single go. This is one issue that adds a point in its demerits.

Lastly, the conclusion is that it is worth the price for users who love comfortable earphones. Its comfortable fitting and audio quality is something that is worth its price. You just cannot find any other brand more comfortable than the SoundPEATS TruEngine 2.

  • Fossil Q generation 4 Explorist reviews

Fossil Q generation 4 Explorist reviews

Last year’s Fossil Q Control 3rd Generation smartwatch was a big-time disappointment for a number of users. Though it has an aesthetic appeal, it came out with a disappointing feature set. When talking about its feature set, it lacked GPS and NFC which made it a big deal breaker. Almost every competitor offers you these features in their watches.

Fossil Q generation 4 Explorist reviews

With the launch of its new 4th generation smartwatches, Fossil had made an entry into the market of smart-watches. They have made it all by adding GPS and NFC in their all-new Fossil Q 4th generation. It also has an optical heart rate sensor. But before making a buying decision, you must consider its features and then make a choice of whether it’s worth the money or not.

What do you need to know about Fossil Q 4th generation?

As the previous models of Fossil smartwatch have a compatible Wear OS, the same is with the new Fossil Q 4th generation. This feature allows you to make your watch compatible with both Android and iOS phones. Unlike the 3rd generation smartwatch, this version of Fossil watches comes with a heart rate tracker, NFC, and GPS for keeping track of your runs and bike rides.

The device is also waterproof for up to 50m, so you can even wear it while your shower or swim. It also has a built-in speaker which helps you in using your Google Assistant. There is no specific speaker for attending calls from your wrist directly. It doesn’t support 4G, so you have to keep your phone nearby for using Wi-Fi.

Fossil Q 4th generation- Pricing and Competition

The pricing for the watch starts with £250 for the silicon black variant. Fossil Q Explorist is up for giving a tough competition to Apple watch. Apple users are spending more £30 for Apple Watch Series 3 priced at £280. Though, the Apple watch series 4 comes with a larger screen and a faster processor; you can buy the watch worth £400. The price is quite high as per the other brands.  Therefore, you need to spend a lot in order to have the privilege of owning it.

Another option for both Android and Apple users is the awesome Samsung Galaxy watch whose pricing starts from £280 onwards. The watch runs Tizen OS and has a superb battery life of up to 7 days. It supports GPS, NFC, and even offline Spotify playlists.

In case you don’t wish to spend so much, you can even go for the Mobvoi Ticwatch in series E and S. Pricing for this one starts from £120 which makes it a great option in a limited budget. You can even opt for the £50 Amazfit Bip which comes with one-month long battery life at a single go.

    Fossil Q 4th generation- Design

The 4th generation Fossil Q is a super awesome looking smartwatch. It borrows some of its features from the 3rd generation model. The watch resembles a traditional and mechanical watch, unlike the other smartwatch companies. It comes with a large glass at the front with crown styled buttons and a nice bezel.

What makes Fossil Q 4th generation different from other mechanical watches is its awesome 45×454, 1.4-inch display. The last year’s 3rd generation model had an air gap between the glass and the display. The Fossil 3rd generation has an OLED panel that is correctly placed at the forefront. Its pins are quite sharp, bright and very colorful.

There is no proper branding as it has a single small logo on its strap buckle. In case you want to flaunt your Fossil watch, you can go for customized watch faces from the manufacturer.  Though the watch measures 45mm across, it doesn’t feel that heavy on your wrist. It is quite lighter and thinner than the Samsung Galaxy smartwatch. The Samsung galaxy smartwatch has a 0.1in smaller display than that of Fossil, still, it weighs much heavier.

The watch comes in 5 different color variants with different straps made of different materials. No matter whichever model you choose, you can use any 22mm band to have a look of your choice.

    Fossil Q 4th generation- Features

The previous Fossil Q Explorist lacked GPS, NFC, and a heart rate tracker. All these awesome features are available in the Generation 4 watch. It makes the watch a more appealing device. Therefore, you can leave your house without your phone and track the distance and time of your workouts and runs. Though it is a perfect choice for occasional walks and runs the Q Explorist cannot be an adequate replacement for a multisport watch. Its optical heart rate sensor gives you numbers that are quite flakey at times.

The NFC is another best feature of this smartwatch is the NFC. It takes just a few minutes for setting up Google Pay and makes other contactless payments. Making payments with this is much easier than using tangible cards. Moreover, it works without an active internet connection, so you can just pick up some stuff from the supermarket anytime. You do not need to keep your mobile phone and wallet with you.

    Fossil Q 4th generation- Verdict

Fossil had made big progress with its 4th generation smartwatch. It has a special aesthetic appeal that people will surely fall for. Moreover, it includes all the features a 2020 smartwatch user should demand.

But, when it comes to performance, you may face some issues. Its chipset is more than 2 years old and it can’t compete with the latest devices from Apple and Samsung. Still, if you want a faster chipset, you can wait for the next generation to come out in the market. If there is a 5th generation of the Fossil Q Explorist, there are chances they cover up this drawback.

For now, if you are looking for a minimum budget maximum feature smartwatch, you can surely go for Fossil Q 4th generation Explorist.
