OnePlus Data Breach: CERT-In Issues Advisory After Indian OnePlus Users’ Data Stolen

OnePlus is a popular brand in India with as much a market share of about 35%. OnePlus leads the premium segment for two quarters in a row. Indian users choosing to move to the premium category generally eye OnePlus phones. This has led to the brand becoming wildly popular here. OnePlus Data Breach is the latest in news. Recently, OnePlus issued a statement where they stated that some user information was accessed by unauthorized parties. This came to light during a routine system check. Users of devices across the OnePlus range were affected, including OnePlus 6, OnePlus 7, and more.

CERT-In is India’s nodal agency for cybersecurity. The body recently issued a recommendation for OnePlus smartphone users in India. They advised them to change their account passwords. It was mentioned that the orders and related details of about 3,000 customers were exposed during the systems breach. The information exposed includes data such as name, address, email. The reason why this is alarming is that this kind of data could be easily used to impersonate the individual and get access to their personal accounts. The cybersecurity agency has classified this under ‘medium’ severity rating.

The official advisory by CERT-In asks OnePlus users to change their passwords immediately after a data breach comes to light. Do not to open shady URL links or open any kind of attachments to remain safe. OnePlus mentioned that the breached data does not include passwords, bank account details, or payment card details. All the impacted users would be notified by email.

This breach occurs at a time when OnePlus is working to shift its data to Amazon Web Services (AWS) India servers from Singapore. This is not the first time the company has experienced security breached. In 2018, the financial data and bank card details of more than 40,000 users were exposed, leading to a major issue. This time, the exposure has been relatively less according to both CERT-In and OnePlus.

Since users may receive random phishing emails or spam, the body has put the users on high alert by asking them not to open any spam email even if it looks authentic. In short, if you don’t know the sender, be wary of the contents.

Once updated, users would be able to receive another WhatsApp call when they are already on another call. Currently, users don’t receive notification of alert of a call waiting. Instead, a missed call alert would pop up after the call. The caller would be notified that the user is busy with an ‘On Another Call’ message. This feature should be a huge help all around.

Samsung A11, A31 And A41 To Come With 64GB Base Storage

Samsung’s Galaxy A series is now all geared up for an upgrade that will bring it to par with the other latest releases in the market. The Samsung A11, A31 and A41 models will be entering the market in 2020 with a minimum storage of 64GB. Samsung is working on revamping it’s Galaxy A-range series to offer the users a higher usage and a better design.

While the A10 and A30 models both started off with 32GB, the upcoming ones will feature 64GB and go upwards. The leaked reports on A51 and A71 tell us that they might feature an Infinity-O AMOLED display with a rectangular camera at the rear. It is yet to be seen if the entry-level A-series models will feature the same design. We will have to wait and find out. Some suggest that the first release among these models might be as early as next month, welcoming the new year in style.

The Galaxy A series was a huge success among the fans last year. Samsung is planning to launch other devices over the next year, including A11, A31 and A41. These models will launch with SM-A115X, SM-A315X, and SM-A415X model numbers. Huawei Nova 6 Listed on VMall

The most awaited Huawei Nova 6 was scheduled to come on December 5 and has been listed on an online retailer operated by Huawei, Vmall.com. It will be available in two variants – 8GB/128GB and 8GB/256GB and in four colors.

The device will arrive in both 4G and 5G variants. But 4G variant will be available only in 128GB option and in Blue, Black, and Blue-Purple shades, according to the listing.

On the other side, the 5G variant will be available in both 128GB and 256GB storage models and it will also come in Red color option.

There is no proper spec sheet revealed on the listing of Huawei Nova 6 but the renders also reveal that the device will come with 3.5mm jack above and power button (with fingerprint scanner) and volume rocker on the right side.

In addition, the new images also reveal some texts on the back panel which read “AI Camera/OIS” next to the cameras. It hints the rear quad camera setup will include an AI-powered camera and a telephoto zoom lens with OIS stabilization.

We are still waiting for the official full specs sheet of Nova 6. But, it is confirmed that the device will arrive with a 32MP selfie camera along with an 8MP ultrawide angle lens. Nova 6 has passed Geekbunch a few days ago and revealed major specs like Kirin 990 SoC, Android 10 and 8GB RAM.

Huawei Nova 6 5G

Along with the 4G variant, the Huawei Nova 6 5G is also scheduled to launch on December 5 in China and the phone has been listed on the online retailer by Huawei ahead of its launch, VMall.com. The phone is listed in 2 memory variants and four colors – 8GB/128GB and 8GB/256GB. The device is all set to come with an IPS LCD 6.57-inch display just like Honor V30.

The Nova 6 5G variant may also sport a dual punch-hole display at the front with a selfie camera setup on the top left corner. Including the chin and the top, bezels seem thin on all edges.

The Huawei Nova 6 5G is may also come with the quad rear camera module and 60MP snapper. The device will get a Sony IMX686 sensor, with a pair of 2MP cameras on the back and 16MP snapper.

There will be 32MP main camera on the front for selfies along with 12MP wide-angle lens. The most awaited Huawei device will reportedly come with 4000mAh battery. Also, it will have support for fast charging tech of 40W Magic Charge.

A recent Geekbunch listing of Huawei Nova 6 5G has also revealed that the device will be powered by HiSilicon Kirin Octa-core chipset. The device was spotted getting all the powers from HiSilicon Kirin 1.86GHz octa-core processor running on the latest Android 10.

The company is also speculating to launch Nova 6 SE device powered by Kirin 810 along with Nova 6 on the same day. The next Huawei device will support 40W Magic Charge tech for fast charging alongside a 4000mAh battery.

LG G8 ThinQ Receiving Stable Android 10 Update

In terms of rolling out the latest Android updates, LG is still lagging behind and it doesn’t have a promising track record. But the company has committed to work on this matter and perform better. In fact, LG G8 ThinQ has started getting updates in some regions and recent evidence shows that LG is going to keep its promise.

Yes, you read it right. LG has started rolling out its stable Android 10 OS update for G8 ThinQ. According to a recent report, the company has started releasing Android 10 update in South Korea for this device. The version number of this new software update is G820N20c. The company is yet to publish a changelog in detail. But, we understand that the update of LG G8 ThinQ will bring new Android 10 features, including a new navigation system, smart reply and dark mode.

Keep in mind that LG G8 ThinQ updates are not available on all carriers and in all regions at the same time. It may take some time before you get an update, even though it is launched officially by LG.

LG has also released an Android security patch for November, according to the reports by GSMArena. Currently, when the same update will roll out in other regions is still unknown. New Batch of Redmi K30 leaks

Redmi K30 has constantly been in speculations and rumors these days. However, some of the ‘live pictures’ and info of the device have come out to be fake. When considering the new batch of leaks and speculations, we will soon get the full story to reveal, particularly within a few weeks. General Manager of Redmi Group and VP of Xiaomi Group, Lu Weibing has officially revealed a hint of a kind of K30 event to happen next week.

It is still supposed to be a center of attraction as a successor to Xiaomi’s best-selling Mi 9T and Redmi K20.

“A leakster Mukul Sharma claims official release to go down by December 10, which we have already known. So, it wouldn’t be wrong to expect some official teasers before that.”

Some other rumors of specs include refresh rate of 120Hz on the panel along with Snapdragon 730G processor, coupled with 64GB storage and 6GB RAM on the base variant.

The camera panel is supposed to have 64MP main snapper, 12MP ultra-wide-angle lens, 8MP telephoto zoom lens, and 2MP depth sensor on the rear side. It will have a 20MP selfie snapper.

Without having a specific order, some of the other details include 27W fast charging with 4500mAh battery, IR blaster, NFC, and 3.5mm headphone jack. When it comes to pricing, Redmi K30 might fall around CNY 2000 ($285) according to some sources.

Some others also reveal CNY 2300 ($330). Both could easily be found correct in case K30 has few new variants and it takes after its precursor. One of the leaked posters also mentioned 5G support.

Overall Redmi K30 is going to be a killer upper mid-range smartphone with plenty of flagship-level features. It consists of a completely bezel-less display with high resolution.

It has good battery capacity coupled with fast charging for smooth performance. But there is a lack of expandability and storage department might be a letdown.

Vivo iQOO Neo with Snapdragon 855+ passes through TENAA

Vivo’s iQOO range is supposed to come with a major upgrade in its chipset lineup yet again. Currently, it is going to hold the flagship processor, Snapdragon 855+.

iQOO seems to be developing a specific pattern, mostly in its Vivo Neo range. Initially, Vivo launched iQOO Neo with Qualcomm Snapdragon 845 processor and it later launched a flagship model that comes with SD 855 SoC.

The latest version arrived with a lot of smaller upgrades and more powerful SoC, which optimizes faster charging and comes with a bigger selfie camera.

Along with those, the devices are quite much similar to both the hardware and design departments. It seems like the device will come with yet another improved version once again. It will come with the highest SD 855+ SoC.

Currently, the device has got the model number V1936AL, which is quite similar to V1936A model number with iQOO Neo 855. It is believed that the device would be titled iQOO Neo 855+. It was listed with 159.53×75.23×8.13mm dimension and weighing 198.5g on TENAA listing.
