Smartphones have made an amazing turn in terms of appearances, sizes shapes and over the years companies have gone out of their way to make sure that they surprise us with their new releases. It seems that the future is just so unpredictable especially if it comes to these smartphones.
There are those that have a number of cameras on the back while others have huge screens and the more subtle ones just divide the screen into two halves so it could fold.
Now, LG took a more subtle approach and gave its flagship smartphone not one, but two screens. Yes, the company released the phone late last year and promised to start shipping it as this year’s first LG phone.
The phone has two screens that touch onto each other when the phone is (much like a Nintendo DS but without the controller). The LG V60 ThinQ phone has also been confirmed to have a 5G reception which will be one amongst the few phones that have this type of network reception.
According to sources, the company plans to launch the phone in Barcelona.
The company wanted to launch the phone as its first flagship product so as to expand its 5G presence in the market.
5G Connectivity
As most know, 5G is not really that much available in a lot of smartphones as for most companies it is still in the “testing phase”. LG is hoping to take advantage of this situation. They will release their phone in advance so as to reduce its number of competitors. But, this is not to say that it is going to win any crowns for it.
There are still a number of smartphones out there that are going to be better competitors than the brand is expecting. There are a number of flagships that are coming this year. Even Samsung’s very own rumoured S20 is releasing this year, and this is just to mention but one.
This year’s smartphone wars are going to be nothing short of a bloodbath so there is a lot o gearing up that users and manufacturers are to do to prepare.
However, if there is anything that is going to make the new LG V60 ThinQ stand out is its second screen. The release of the smartphone may entail a second screen cover for the rest second screen.
The cover may upgrade the folding structure and a free stop hinge technology. Also, it would allow the user to hold the second screen at any angle.
I am not saying that this is the best feature of the phone. However, it is something unique and frankly, with this new range of competitive smartphones, this is generally all that a company needs to have in order to compete in the big leagues.
Wrapping Up
It is yet to be confirmed if LG will be able to compete and live up to its other counterparts. Even better, it is still too early to make any verdicts.
There have been multiple rumours and leaks recently revealing that the OnePlus 8 Pro will come with a display camera hole. The OnePlus 8 Pro Leak repeatedly mention the camera hole’s existence, making it almost certain that the phone will have a display camera hole. GizmoChina, the tech news outlet, shared an image of a seemingly legitimate OnePlus 8 Pro screen protector. The screen protector also comes with its top-left edge cut off, clearing any doubts fans had about the display camera hole.
OnePlus 8 Pro Leak
If leaks are accurate, the newest OnePlus phones will include a camera hole on the top-left corner of its display. The design choice is not shocking at all since a lot of phones in 2020 opt for this design. Samsung’s upcoming Galaxy S20 flagships will also sport a display camera hole in the centre. Other upcoming devices like the Huawei P40 are also expected to follow the same trend and include a pill-shaped display camera hole. Even Samsung’s second foldable smartphone – the Galaxy Z Flip will sport a display hole.
OnePlus 7T Pro
The source shared two images of the screen protector. The first one comes with the edge cut off, while the second one does not. The first screen protector appears flat, while the second one is curved. The difference in the two protectors could only be revealing the material of the protectors, and nothing else. The first one looks like it’s made of plastic, and the second one looks like an authentic tempered glass protector. CAD-based renders of both the OnePlus 8 and 8 Pro surfaced last year. Based on these renders, the two phones are expected to feature remarkably similar designs.
The upcoming flagships will feature 120Hz displays and a Snapdragon 865 processor. Both variants will be made out of metal and glass and will feature a curved display. The primary difference between the two will be visible on the back since the camera modules will look slightly different. The phones will have super slim bezels, and the backsides of the phones will be curved as well. The alert slider will surely make a comeback, and so will the in-display fingerprint scanner.
OnePlus 8 series
Out of the box, the OnePlus 8 series phones will come pre-loaded with Android 10, along with the standard OxygenOS skin. The phones will come with a warp charger in the box, and the Snapdragon 865 will power the upcoming OnePlus flagships.
Both the OnePlus 8 and 8 Pro are rumoured to boast proper dust and water resistance certifications – which is a first for OnePlus’ devices. Both devices will also feature a high refresh rate 120Hz display according to the leaks. The phones are expected to arrive in Q2 2020, probably in April or May.
Bloomberg Media is a consumer-facing media organization and is one of the leading global business and financial media companies that reach a premium audience of more than 80 million consumers. With over 2,700 analysts and journalists across 120 countries, Bloomberg Media Group connects audiences to news and ideas across every platform: TV, radio, digital, print, and live events. Bloomberg Media recently announced that it is rebranding TicToc, the social video news network, to “QuickTake by Bloomberg.” Bloomberg views this as a crucial step for the brand as a whole, as it evolves into a premium global news network that connects social and streaming aspects of modern news seamlessly.
In preparation for the launch of its streaming news channel later in 2020, the new brand will merge with Bloomberg’s existing digital video operations, and add a full team of producers and editors to the newsroom – becoming one editorial studio. Since it’s launch in 2017, TicToc has expanded onto various social screens and platforms, reaching over 90 million views monthly across platforms. The brand had managed to garner a truly global audience, with 46 per cent being international viewers.
TicToc’s Rebranding
TicToc has seen tremendous growth, with a 79% increase in audience size in the last year, and it has a primarily younger demographic. The new QuickTake by Bloomberg brand will significantly increase its robust video offering by combining the content TicToc furnishes with the expertise Bloomberg’s digital video operations team supplies. TicToc’s shorter, one- and two-minute immediate reactions to global news stories will be combined with Bloomberg’s digital video operations – which currently produces much longer five-to ten-minute narratives.
Bloomberg Rebrands TicToc
By reporting in real-time as news breaks, and providing greater context on more significant issues, QuickTake aims to furnish insights at every stage of a story – all while delivering the right forms of content on the right platforms at each point in the news cycle. TicToc’s rebranding is a strategic evolution of the existing Bloomberg QuickTake brand, and this next iteration of the brand will continue to build on TicToc’s success in delivering short-form videos optimized for social media platforms.
Bloomberg QuickTake
The younger generation of news consumers will have better and quicker access to the biggest breaking news stories, ideas, and issues across business, tech, and culture. John Micklethwait, Bloomberg’s Editor-in-Chief, firmly believes that TicToc’s content delivery model works well with Bloomberg QuickTake. He also believes that both brands deliver concise yet thorough content that explains world events.
He and his team believe that the newly aligned QuickTake studio will prove to be an influential asset in a world where the number of platforms that require high-quality video is multiplying. You can follow QuickTake by Bloomberg on every major social media platform – including Instagram, Twitter, Facebook, and YouTube. You can also subscribe to their newsletter.
While the Google Pixel4 brings its share of cutting edge features to the smartphone market, there is already a long list of things people dislike about the phone. The small battery capacity is something users are griping about. However, not being able to charge the phone with every charger makes matters worse. The charger itself isn’t what poses the problem – it’s the cable. The Pixel4 does not charge or transfer data with some third-party USB cables. The phone’s reliance on USB Power Delivery enables all USB-C to USB-C cables to work just fine. However, it’s the USB-C to USB-A cables that pose problems with the phone
Google Pixel 4 Side
What Is USB Power Delivery And Why It Matters
Google’s Pixel range of smartphones relies on a technology called USB Power Delivery (PD) to charge the phones. You will find this technology in all of Google’s chargers. Since the tech is found on all of Google’s phones (the first Pixel too!), we know that all the phones in the series use the same technology to charge. However, the smartphone will not charge or transfer data when some specific cables are in use. The same wires work correctly with older devices like the Pixel 3. The technology works great and charges at about 15W. The Pixel4 charges fine with other charges that support USB Power Delivery (PD) over USB-C to USB-C connectors. Third-party USB PD products and older Pixel chargers work just as well.
USB-C to USB-C works just fine. However, you will not be able to charge the Pixel4 with USB-A chargers. Quick Charge ports, power banks, and even the standard ports on your laptop or your PC will not work. However, swapping out to another cable may allow you to connect a Pixel 4 to these devices to charge it. If the cable has a purple identifier, it most certainly will not work with the Pixel4. The problem does not stop here.
Google Pixel4
Issue With USB Accessories
The Pixel 4 does not work with USB-C to 3.5mm adapters from other companies. In particular, the USB-C to 3.5mm adapters from Huawei and OnePlus do not work. Considering that Google no longer includes an audio adapter in the box, it is irritating. The smartphone does work with the Pixel 3’s audio adapter. The phone does not work with any USB-C HDMI dongle, whereas phones from competing brands like Samsung and Huawei do. However, only a few phones support wired HDMI screen mirroring these days, and it is a rare feature to come by. Regardless, Google is stern about what it does and doesn’t support over a Pixel’s USB-C connector.
Conclusion
Along with its own products, Google is also attempting to dictate stricter terms regarding the design of the chargers and cables on its Android partners’ smartphones. It looks like Google wants all Android devices to support USB-PD. Regardless, while most cables will work with the it, there is a subset of cables that won’t. To ensure that your Pixel 4 works with your power bank, head to Google’s store and grab the official USB-C to USB-A cable.
The OnePlus Concept One impressed crowd with its ‘Invisible Camera’ technology at CES 2020. And the same tech is coming to a future OnePlus smartphone. Pete Lau, OnePlus’ CEO, confirmed this during a recent podcast with The Verge. Mr. Lau made his first-ever appearance on a podcast as a guest at The Verge. During the half-hour podcast, he confirmed that the OnePlus Concept One’s ‘Invisible Camera’ technology would come to a production smartphone in the future.
He did not say exactly when, though, and no further details have been revealed. Mr. Lau did say that it will happen soon. In the same podcast, the CEO also confirmed that OnePlus doesn’t plan on releasing a foldable smartphone anytime soon.

OnePlus Concept One: Invisible Camera
Now, if you’ve been out of the loop, the ‘Invisible Camera’ technology is quite impressive. OnePlus implemented an electrochromic glass in the back panel of the OnePlus Concept One. This electrochromic glass turns opaque when a current passes through it. The glass turns opaque, causing the camera lenses behind the glass to disappear – giving the phone a modern and sleek look.
Once you turn off the current by opening the Camera app, the glass becomes transparent, and the cameras work normally. The glass is not just a cosmetic feature since the lenses also use the glass as an ND filter. The ND filter can be activated via the Concept One’s ‘Pro mode’ option in the Camera app. The ND filter offers a ton of benefits. The filter enables you to have longer shutter speeds, which blocks excessive light from reaching the lens.
OnePlus Concept One
ND filters are a technology that digital cameras on the market have been using for quite some time now. It is possible that OnePlus will release the Concept One smartphone at some point, and not create another phone as a whole. Mr. Lau did not clarify whether this will happen, or the tech will come packed in an entirely new phone. We can assume that the OnePlus 8 series phones will not come with the electrochromic glass. Nothing suggested that it will, at least till now. Plus, the Concept One wouldn’t have featured it if the were to come with the OnePlus 8 series.
The OnePlus 8 series is expected to arrive in April or May of 2020. The company is expected to announce the series in May, although the phones may even come sooner than expected. If OnePlus sticks to the release cycle, the OnePlus 8 series will launch in May. However, since rumours and leaks have begun to circulate a lot earlier than before, the handsets could arrive in March or April. The OnePlus 8 series will have three phones – the OnePlus 8, the OnePlus 8 Pro, and the OnePlus 8 Lite.
The Realme Wireless Buds Air earphones have finally launched, and they look exactly like the Apple AirPods. As previously teased, the case supports wireless charging – which is surprising considering none of Realme’s current-gen smartphones supports wireless charging. As one would expect from Realme, the Buds Air earphones are super affordable and supply excellent value for money.
In this post, we’ll briefly go over the Realme Wireless Buds Air’s features.
Realme Wireless Buds Air Features
Wear Detection
Open-up Auto Connection
Wireless Charging
Dual Mic for Calling
Super Low Latency
Dynamic Bass Boost Driver
Similar to the AirPods, the Realme Wireless Buds Air are truly wireless earphones and feature extended stems. With the earphones themselves, you get the pod-like case that holds enough power to make the earphones last for 17 hours on a single charge. The earphones themselves have a 3-hour battery backup, which is decent considering the price.
Realme Buds Air
You can use the tap controls to control music playback and play or pause the music. Double tapping the earphones triggers Google Assistant, and you can also make calls and decline incoming calls. The wireless earbuds have a dedicated gaming mode, which can be activated by long-pressing both the earphones at the same time.
Realme reports that the special gaming mode will reduce audio latency by up to 51% – from 243.8ms to 119.3ms. Additionally, the earphones also boast noise cancellation capabilities. Realme calls this feature “Environment Noise Cancellation.” The feature can only be used when you’re taking a call with the earphones on. The headsets use the dual microphones on the stems to amplify your voice and filter out unwanted background noise.
What else?
The wireless earphones use a custom-made R1 chip that supports Bluetooth 5.0. They also support Google Fast Pair technology, which allows you to pair your headsets to any device instantly, just like the Apple AirPods would. The Fast Pair feature is not currently available on the device, and the feature will be added to the earphones via a software update in Q1 2020. The earbuds feature an optical sensor that will automatically pause your music when you remove the buds from your ears, and the music will resume once you put them back on.
The charging case can be charged wirelessly using a charging pad or via USB-C. Realme has also announced its very own 10W wireless charger, which will come to the market soon. The Realme Wireless Buds Air earphones are available in three colours – White, Yellow, and Black.
In just the first sale, the company sold over 11,000 units in a couple of hours. There’s no word about its global availability yet; however, the excellent features and the fantastic price make the Realme Buds Air a great buy.
While Android 9 Pie is not exactly new, not every device is running on it. Many devices from different manufacturers are slated to receive Android 9 Pie update in 2020. Since your smartphone is expected to be more secure and functional, this update is an important piece of news. Let’s take a look at all the smartphones that are getting the Pie update this year.
While most smartphones are either included in an updated plan or have already received the update, there are some unfortunate models that were promised with the Pie update but have not received it yet. BlackBerry KEY2 is among them. Most of Google devices are now running on Android 10. Google’s Pixel phones already have received Android 10 updates.
LG V30 will receive its update this year. Other popular devices by LG, including LG G7 ThinQ, LG V30, and LG V20 have already got the update. OnePlus devices scheduled for the Pie update include OnePlus 6, OnePlus 5/5T, and OnePlus 3/3T.

With almost all the leading smartphone device manufacturers planning on Android 9 Pie update, we hope you receive the update soon. The exact dates of these updates are not known. Since the roll-out has already started, you should probably receive it soon enough. Keep an eye out!
Reports suggest that Samsung is currently working on a wireless TV. If it is successful, it would be the first of its kind. A patent has been submitted for the same. If Samsung comes through, there would no longer the need for the messy wires that come with the TV. The television will receive its energy from a wireless power transceiver in the form of a soundbar. This could be placed anywhere nearby. It will work remotely, eliminating the need for wires.
LetsGoDigital is a Dutch tech blog that first noticed the patent filed by Samsung for the wireless smart television. It was first submitted in 2018, but only recently became public. Among the multiple patents the company is working on, this was one of them. It looks like Samsung is working on plenty of options, including a smart mirror TV and even a roll-up TV!
Samsung Wireless TV
At CES 2020, Samsung exhibited their zero-bezel TV. It offers an incredibly immersive viewing experience on different models. While the number of models has not been mentioned yet, the company is expected to release the zero-bezel TVs with displays measuring 65 inches and larger. Instead of the display panel being welded along the frame, it is welded only to the main body. While may have expressed concerns, Samsung seems assured about the structural integrity of this model. Manufacturing partners are Shinsegye Engineering and Taehwa Precision.
Samsung TVs
Samsung, the South Korean electronics giant, has started focusing on television sets over the last couple of years. They are working to find a way to seamlessly integrate TV sets into our homes. Last year, the company added a new featured called Ambient Mode to its QLED TVs. This feature enabled the screen to blend into the wall behind it.
First Wireless TV
According to a statement issued by the company, “TVs are turns on for only five hours a day on average, yet they occupy a large space on the wall in the living room. This means TVs hang on the wall just as a black screen for more than 19 hours every day. With a TV turned off, it is easier to see dust or fingerprints on the screen – especially when the screen is large.”
The visual impact is always spoilt by the numerous wires behind the TV that sticks out like a sore thumb. Many efforts have been taken to minimise the visual impact, with high-end models now shipping with Samsung’s OneConnect box. Here, all the wires are bunched up into a single cable that can be then connected to the TV. While it is not the ideal solution, it is relatively better than the untidy collection of wires that is always present.
Samsung has already started using wireless power technology in some of its products, such as its flagship device, the Galaxy S10 range. So far, there has been no comment on when we will see the wireless television in the market. Samsung has not hinted at any potential releases.

Xiaomi’s Poco brand is called Pocophone in other countries besides India. The company recently announced that they plan to get started on developing mobile games in 2020. Poco has only one phone to its credit so far. However, despite this, the Poco F1 became quite popular. The next in the series, the Pocophone F2 will be out for release sometime in 2020. 91mobiles recently found out a listing for a new Poco device on the Bureau for Indian Standards (BIS) website. Here, the model number listed suggests that the upcoming phone might not be an entirely new device. According to the BIS listing, the POCO smartphone is featured with a model number M1912G7BI. This points us to the Redmi K30 4G. If you take a look at the Chinese listings for Redmi K30 4G, you will see that it comes with model numbers M1912G7BC and M1912G7BE.
Redmi K30
Xiaomi has its own practice of coming up with a model number. In its devices, the company generally uses the last letter in the model number to denote the target market. So, the C and the E refers to the Chinese and European markets respectively. The new model number, M1912G7BI, ends with an I. This suggests that the device is likely to be sold in the Indian market.
Xiaomi and Poco
At the moment, there is not much detail on whether the Redmi K30 4G is the basis for Poco’s upcoming device, Poco F2. However, it is pretty sure that the model that is based on K30 4G will definitely come out under the Poco brand. This phone will have a Snapdragon 730G processor, up to 256GB of expandable storage, 6GB to 8GB of RAM, and a 4,500mAh battery. The phone is likely to be retailed as an upper mid-range model.
The Redmi K30 4G features a 120Hz FHD+ 6.67-inches LCD screen in addition to a headphone port and a side-mounted fingerprint scanner. On the camera front, the device has a dual punch-hole cut-out for a 20MP/2MP sensor pairing. The quad rear camera setup boasts of a 64MP main camera, 8MP ultra-wide sensor, 2MP macro camera, and 2MP depth sensor. The phone’s price will be almost similar to the Chinese market.
Pocophone F2
Pocophone F2
The upcoming Poco smartphone, the Poco F2, is basically a rebranded Redmi K30. It will simply be Redmi K30 in terms of looks and most of the specs. The software will be a bit different. POCO will have its own take on MIUI on top of the phone, but the design and display are likely to stay the same.
The Poco F2 will run on MIUI Global 11.0.2 on top of Android 10. With regards to the design, the device will have a pill-shaped display hole in the top-right corner. This is quite similar to the K30 model. All this is mere speculation doing the rounds on the internet since the company has not made any official announcements. Leaked information from different sources points us in this direction. The details about the F2 emerged on a Polish website with an image of the device.
