    Honor 20 Pro Review

Introduction – Honor 20 Pro Review

Huawei’s latest flagship phone, the Honor 20 Pro, is more or less similar to its predecessor, the Honor 20. Featuring a better camera, additional storage, and a larger battery, the phone does not have anything significantly different to offer. Aesthetically speaking, both the phones are pretty much the same. The 32MP selfie camera peeps through a tiny hole punch notch at the top of the screen. The smartphone has been designed with a light-reflecting finish under the glass and has metal sides and a glass back. The fingerprint scanner is side-mounted and also works as the power button. It looks like left-handed people might have some trouble getting used to this phone. You will not find any headphone socket here either. Let’s move on to a more detailed Honor 20 Pro Review.

    Performance And Battery Life

The USB-C port located at the bottom side of the phone controls both wired audio and power since there is no specific headphone socket available. The Honor 20 Pro features an 8GB RAM and 256GB storage. This means that the phone works smoothly and flawlessly. The battery is also pretty stable and offers about 36 hours of usage on a single charge. While there is no wireless charging capabilities in this smartphone, you will be able to charge it completely in less than 90 minutes. The phone charges about 75% in 60 minutes.

    Magic UI 2.1

This phone uses Magic UI. Its gesture controls are similar to Google’s Android Q where the swipes can replace the back or recent screen buttons. The Honor 20 Pro runs on Android 9 Pie-based Magic UI 2.1 software. It offers good enough customization options, reasonable battery life, and works reasonably well in most cases. While its default look may not please everyone, you can easily customize it to suit your requirements. For comparison’s sake, it is not as great as OnePlus or Oxygen OS, but it is definitely getting better with every update.

You can expect about two or so software updates every month for the first couple of years from the date of release. The company seems pretty confident that they can successfully update the Honor 20 Pro smartphone with Android Q, despite the fact that Google suspended Huawei’s future access to the Play Store. As you might already know that the current phones will receive support, future updates are uncertain.

    Design

Although the Honor 20 Pro is by no means a huge smartphone, it is still pretty large with dimensions of 154mm x 74mm x 9mm. With a 91.6% screen-to-body ratio, there is a tiny amount of bezel for a notification light and a speaker. One unusual feature on this phone is that the power button and the fingerprint sensors are the same. This means that you can access your phone in double-quick time. It is far easier to use and works better than the now popular in-screen scanner. The button is also not placed too far at the top so that access is uncomfortable – it is just at the right height. The volume controls are above the power button.

The quad-camera located at the back, unfortunately, is more than a slight bump and the phone will not lay flat on its back. However, it is not a big compromise considering the high tech-packed within the phone. The Honor 20 Pro is available in a nice green shade and a purple one. Both the colors give off an elegant feel and look gorgeous.

    Honor 20 Pro Display
    Honor 20 Pro Display

    Display

While this model has a lot going for it, you might have to adjust to the quality of the display, especially considering the other fine features the phone offers and at a very affordable price. The Honor 20 Pro has a 6.26-inch screen with LCD Full HD+ tech. While it is not as great as the OLED screen, it does offer an excellent brightness range and is even clear when used in direct sunlight. The only drawback could be that the phone may not display the colors vibrantly.

While the direct competitors of this smartphone do have better screens featuring OLED or AMOLED displays, this option is more affordable. Since there is a very thin bezel, the company has decided to skip the camera notch and go ahead with a punch-hole camera. This means the lens is part of the display area. According to Honor, Honor 20 Pro features the smallest punch-hole camera in the market right now. Overall, the screen is perfect for regular use and you will not experience any issues.

    Things to keep in mind

Keep in mind that the fingerprint scanner is located within easy reach of your right thumb. Do be careful since the Honor 20 Pro has a glass back and is pretty slippery. It might be a good idea to get a secure case for the phone so that you don’t drop it or the phone doesn’t slip out of the pocket as you sit down. If you have the phone on vibrate mode, you might need to be mindful of it since the vibrations are not strong enough compared to what we are used to with other models. Another thing to note is that the frame of the phone is known to get caught in hairs and other pieces of fluff.

    Honor 20 Pro Camera
    Honor 20 Pro Camera

    Camera

The Honor 20 Pro has an excellent camera with the AI doing a wonderful job of tweaking the settings automatically to get you better pictures. The phone features a 48MP standard camera with optical image stabilization, a 16MP ultra-wide-angle camera, and a 2MP macro camera. There is also an 8MP telephoto camera that features 3x optical zoom. Low light photography is also reasonably good, but the ultra-wide angle camera could do with some improvements. The 32MP front camera is one of the best in the market and manages to capture the tiniest details, regardless of the lighting conditions.

Conclusion – Honor 20 Pro Review

The phone has been designed and manufactured as an affordable model packed with the best tech in the market. The manufacturers have done a great job managing the balance between design and functionality.

  • LG G8X ThinQ First Look – Review

LG G8X ThinQ First Look – Review

LG G8X ThinQ smartphone runs on the Android v9.0 (Pie) operating system. This mobile phone is specially designed with an Octa-core processor such as Kryo 485, Quad-Core, 1.8 GHX, + Kryo 485, Tri-Core, 2.42 GHz, + Kryo 485, Single-Core, 2.84 GHz. It runs on the Qualcomm Snapdragon 855 Chipset. This model comes with an internal storage of 128 GB space and RAM with 6 GB capacity. LG G8X ThinQ smartphone has an OLED display. It measures 159.3 mm x 75.8 mm x 8.4 mm and weighs 192 grams.

LG G8X ThinQ First Look - Review

LG G8X mobile screen resolution could be 403 PPI and 1080 x 2340 pixels density. It has an aspect ratio of 19.5:9 and a screen-to-body ratio of 83.09 %.

On the camera front, the buyers get a 32 MP Front Camera and on the rear, there’s a 12 MP + 13 MP cameras with features like-

    • Digital Zoom
    • Auto Flash
    • Face detection
    • Touch to focus.

It is backed by a 4000 mAh battery. This smartphone includes numerous Connectivity features such as NFC, Volte, GPS, Bluetooth, Wi-Fi (wireless), and many more.

    Design & Security

The LG G8X ThinQ looks and feels similar to the LG G8 ThinQ, but the changes made are extremely welcome. The notch is now a tiny teardrop rather than an iPhone-style cutout, due to the removal of sensors which enabled gesture controls on the G8 ThinQ. These gestures were fun, but entirely gimmicky, and aren’t missed on the G8X.

LG G8X ThinQ First Look - Design & Security

LG’s also moved the fingerprint scanner from the phone’s back to under the screen, a positive move in terms of design and modernity, but less so in functionality. It’s not fast and it’s not accurate.

I’ve re-scanned my fingerprint several times, but it still has an unacceptable fail rate — by which I mean it fails on more than a few occasions every day — and it definitely doesn’t read overly dry, or slightly damp fingers well at all.

The fingerprint sensor’s failings are compounded by the inexplicable lack of face unlock. A feature seemingly on every phone for years now is absent from the G8X ThinQ, forcing you to rely on the unreliable fingerprint sensor, a PIN code, or worse, just turning off security entirely.

I can forgive fingerprint sensors for their idiosyncrasies when there is a usable, daily alternative that doesn’t involve me going back in time to PINs and patterns. The G8X ThinQ does not have that.

    Additional Design Features

LG has made the G8X slightly thicker than some of its competitors at 8.4mm, but this has enabled it to fit the camera array flush into the body and add plenty of toughness, as well; the phone reaches MIL-STD810G specifications and has an IP68 water resistance rating.

This means it’ll withstand minor drops and encounters with dust or water better than some phones, but it’s glass on both sides, so a case is still always a good idea. The phone’s body is slippery, and more than once it has slid off a table and fell a couple of feet onto a hardwood floor, but didn’t take any damage.

It comes in one color, aurora black, which produces a lovely blue tint when it reflects light. The 192-gram phone isn’t particularly heavy, but the thickness can make it fatiguing to grip over a long period of time.

The case is 134 grams, so when added to the phone, you’ve got a 326-gram device that’s 15mm thick to carry around. Samsung’s Galaxy Fold is 276 grams, and 17mm thick at its widest point.

    Dual-Display Phone

    Dual-Display Phone

Similar to other proper foldable mobile phones, LG G8X is simply offering dual-display screens for a better experience. In case, if you prefer to watch or stream any video content then it is possible to utilize a separate screen for scrolling text or Twitter.

However, the entire kit is not awkward or too large to handle. Amusingly enough, the G8X and Dual Screen benefit from not having as advanced of screen tech as proper foldable.

Same like Samsung Galaxy Fold’s model LG G8X is also configured with two simple screens that can be easily swapped as per your requirements without any slippery interface or confusing bleed over.

Moreover, it does not even include a perfect interface that is a little bit buggy and can exchange the screens without a hitch. You can create a custom controller along with the provided gamepad tech that will not perform well for specific games.

For example, sometimes it is not possible to shoot, aim, or even move simultaneously. As a workaround, you need to combine a few features with a long single press to play clunky games.

    Supportive Dual-Display Information

Apart from other features, you can gain a better experience by playing the games on the full-screen mode and make it creative with your fingers.

Within the Menu bar, you can find numerous game-specific tools under the navigation section (three-button icons) to take screenshots, mute media, disable alerts, and even browse your favorite games on YouTube. Some of the best gaming features are still not available in this mobile phone.

Watching the media is unsurprisingly good on a phone with LG screens, especially when tenting up the phone to watch the video. When compared with the Google Pixel 4 mobile phone, the sound quality is not much better from the speakers either from the earpiece or bottom both sides are even louder.

Extended View is another best feature that allows the users to utilize the second screen (similar to the second tab) for accessing the weblinks or viewing images. At this moment, this feature can be utilized only in Naver Whale and also LG’s Gallery. These are the original screen uses available on this mobile phone.

    LG G8X Performance & Battery

The G8X is equipped with a Snapdragon 855 chipset. Day-to-day tasks such as browsing the web and launching apps run fast and smooth. There were instances, however, where apps froze or sputtered and I’d have to quit the app to restart it.

This happened mostly with gaming apps such as Call of Duty and whenever I tried launching the gaming pad. I also noticed there were times when the second screen would take a beat or two to rotate itself to the proper orientation when I had the game open.

Other than those examples, the G8X’s performance was reliable. On paper, its benchmark scores were comparable to other premium phones with Snapdragon 855 processors. (Note: The Galaxy S10 Plus and  Galaxy S10E have the same processor. We were also unable to run 3DMark Ice Storm Unlimited on the OnePlus 7T.)

    LG G8X Camera

The G8X has two rear cameras: a 12-megapixel standard camera and a 13-megapixel wide-angle camera. LG was one of the first phone makers to include wide-angle shooters, and it’s useful to capture more content in each frame.

There is a low-light mode called Night View, similar to Pixel 4, iPhone 11 and others. The G8X managed to capture a decent photo in a nearly dark living room — I was able to make out various furniture and objects in the photo that I couldn’t see in real life in front of me.

    LG G8X Camera

But compared to the Pixel 4, the G8X’s low light mode isn’t as good. The Pixel 4 captured a much clearer image with less digital noise and more accurate lighting and color. With ample lighting, however, the G8X takes clear and bright photos with good contrast and excellent focus.

While the HDR effect doesn’t make pictures look as cinematic or vibrant as the Pixel 4, colors and exposure are depicted more accurately with what I saw in front of my eyes.

The results may appear “muted” overall, but the pictures are true-to-life. On the front is a 32-megapixel camera for ultra-clear selfies and it can take portrait pictures, too.

Portrait photos were OK but not great. I noticed areas of patchiness around my hair (expected) and hands (not expected). This made the bokeh effect look artificial and unnatural.

  • Best Samsung Smartwatches Review

    Best Samsung Smartwatches Review

We all know that Samsung is one of the most popular and best Smartwatch makers across the globe. They can compete with leading brands such as Fitbit Versa 2 and even Apple Watch 5. Since 2013, the company had started to design Smart Watch Samsung and initially launched the square-faced model and lacking with the Samsung Galaxy Gear model. We’ve seen various iterations of its wrist wear over those last six years, and the company has since come into its own with its latest series of wearables.

    Smart Watch Samsung Review

Tizen is the name of the software you’ll find running on these devices, and it offers a similar experience to the Apple Watch range of Wear OS watches. There are fewer third-party app options available on Tizen devices, but there are still a lot of choices available.

    List of best Samsung Smartwatches

Find below the list of best Samsung smartwatches offered from Samsung brand:

    Samsung Galaxy 42mm Rose Gold

The Samsung Galaxy Watch 42mm Rose Gold is available in midnight black and silver, as well as a rose gold variety that looks best alongside both evening wear and work outfits.

Its Super-AMOLED display is a respectable 1.2 inches and is accompanied by a rotating bezel for easy manipulation through the different apps.

Smart Watch Samsung Galaxy 42mm Rose Gold

It’s safe to use when swimming and it’s resistant to falls of about five feet, not to mention extreme temperature changes, shocks, and vibrations. There’s Samsung Pay support included, making this a great watch for everyday use.

Underneath that attractive exterior is plenty of power with a four-day battery life enabling users to monitor their heart rate, track their location via GPS, as well as receive notifications and take calls via the device and Bluetooth.

    Samsung Gear S3 Classic

Stylish in a timeless classic kind of way, the Samsung Gear S3 Classic will complement your outfit and other accessories while still being eminently practical. It has the distinctive steel rotating bezel favored by other Samsung watches that makes it easy to access apps and notifications with a simple twist.

The most important unique feature of Gear S3 Classic could be its AMOLED screen with the On-cell Touch feature, which allows the users to attend the calls with the help of Bluetooth, microphone, or even integrated speaker.

Smart Watch Samsung Gear S3 Classic

As expected, there’s Samsung Pay support for effortless payments, heart rate monitoring, step counter, automatic exercise and dynamic workout tracking, and GPS functionality. It covers all the bases you could need from a simple smartwatch while looking far nicer than most.

It’s slightly older technology than some other Samsung watches so don’t expect it to be as fast or for the battery life to extend past a couple of days, but there’s no denying that it looks great.

    Samsung Galaxy Fit

Whether you’re an avid swimmer, runner, or just devoted to meeting your step goal, the Samsung Galaxy Fit is an affordable, stylish fitness tracker that automatically monitors all of your activities. Its simple interface tracks everything from water and caffeine consumption to steps taken to sleep patterns.

Also, it can handle your workout, whether that’s long hours in the pool, rock climbing, hitting the gym or tackling the workday. Its military-grade durability makes it ready for the water, extreme temperatures or a few bumps.

    Smart Watch Samsung Galaxy Fit

The Galaxy Fit is about more than just connecting with your health: It’s about connecting your wellness to the rest of your routine. The device can communicate with your Galaxy smartphone to keep you updated with all incoming notifications, texts, and calls on the full-color AMOLED display.

Also, you can scroll through your calendar or upcoming weather mid-workout. Available in two colors, the Galaxy Fit has a battery life of up to a week.

    Samsung Gear Sport

The Samsung Gear Sport is a competent, cutdown version of the more expensive Samsung smartwatches. Its stylings are a little more akin to a fitness wearable but they’re subtle, and will still look good next to evening wear or casual attire.

It has a 1.2-inch Super-AMOLED screen and is water-resistant for up to 50m. Extra fitness features including all-day heart rate tracking, GPS mapping, easy calorie count balance entry, and personal coaching functionality for workouts and runs.

    Smart Watch Samsung Gear Sport

You can also use it to reply to calls and texts with a twist of the rotating bezel, as well as pay for items via Samsung Pay. Another Samsung innovation is their Connect system that lets you control your appliances, such as your television, doors, lights, and other compatible smart devices.

Battery life can be as high as about three days but expect it to last about two days when used for any length of time. That’s especially true when constant heart rate monitoring is activated.

    Samsung Gear S3 Frontier

The Samsung Gear S3 Frontier is the ideal smartwatch for any scenario. It’s as stylish looking as any conventional watch but packs in plenty of features at a keen price. It has a distinctive steel rotating bezel around its 1.3-inch Super-AMOLED full-color display, which is eye-catching but far from over the top.

That rotating bezel also means you can easily access apps in the interface, allowing you to navigate your notifications without clumsily needing to touch the watch (we hate missing inputs on bad touchscreens).

Smart Watch Samsung Gear S3 Frontier

You can use the watch to receive texts, calls, and notifications directly to your wrist. It’s even possible to make and answer calls hands-free via its built-in speaker and microphone.

Other smart features include the ability to make payments via Samsung Pay, saving you the effort of retrieving your wallet, and GPS tracking of exactly where you’ve been.

For the fitness enthusiast, there’s built-in step counting functionality, as well as the S Health app that can monitor your heart rate throughout the day. Military-grade level protection means the Gear S3 is resistant to water, dust, extreme temperatures, and occasional drops. Hence, it should serve you well through daily life. Expect a battery life of about four days before you need to return it to its wireless charger.

    Samsung Gear Fit2 Pro

Sometimes, it’s useful to have a middle ground between a smartwatch and a fitness wearable. The Samsung Gear Fit2 Pro sits between those two quite nicely; it looks more like a Fitbit style device than watch but it still has an LCD screen that shows the time, heart rate, calories you’ve burned, and how many steps you’ve taken.

It’s water-resistant up to 50m so you can wear it in the shower, or in the pool, and works as a standalone music player with the option to download your favorite Spotify playlists. And it’s made of an elastomer so you won’t have to feel like you’re going to break it when working out to your favorite jams.

Smart Watch Samsung Gear Fit2 Pro

Fitness tracking is conducted via popular Under Armour services, MapMyRun and MyFitnessPal, so you can easily sync up your details for tracking over a long period. The heart rate monitoring is continuous as well, so you’ll always receive accurate feedback and statistics.

While you can’t reply to texts or take calls, you can still receive notifications so you know when you need to pull your phone out of your pocket, and when it’s fine to leave things be for a bit. The best part of the Fit2 Pro: It can last up to five days on a single charge.

  • Google Pixelbook Review: Laptop with Google Assistant

Google Pixelbook Review: Laptop with Google Assistant

Are you willing to spend a hefty $999 for a laptop that is based on Android and runs only Chrome OS? Starting at $999, Google Pixelbook has answered with its stunning looks, bright display, great performance and so on.

    Google Pixelbook Review

Though it beautifully packs fast charging tech, the battery life still falls short of other Chromebooks which cost just half of its price or even less. The true value of this notebook comes with its Google Assistant support, which provides a great experience. All such features are tied in a great package that is best suited for executive-class travelers looking for a professional-looking Chromebook.

    Design

Design-wise, more power to Google! With a 3:2 aspect ratio, it looks really very attractive. It is aluminum unibody design is truly thin and its accents and silicon wrist rest look insanely fantastic. It is so small that it won’t remind you of a true paper notebook. This slender laptop evokes those saddle notebooks that are found only in stationery stores.

    Google Pixelbook Review

Measuring just 0.4 inches thick and weighing 2.5 pounds, Pixelbook is thinner and lighter than even Lenovo Yoga 920 (13.9”) which weighs 3.1 pounds and measures 0.6 inches. It has USB Type-C ports along the edges with a 3.5mm headphone jack on the left.

    Display

We are used to believing that Chromebooks only deserve a 1080p display. But Pixelbook has proved us wrong with its vivid and bright 2400x1600p display (which is quite quad-HD). The 12.3-inch display with 235ppi resolution can definitely be your favorite part as text really looks crystal sharp.

    Google Pixelbook Review

The details while playing 4K video on YouTube was amazingly sharp as it allowed us to see every bead and scale of water. However, you need to do some tweaks to play 4K videos on VLC Player and Google’s default video player.

The display produces 117% of the RGB spectrum, which is bigger than 101% of average notebooks and more colorful than 105% of Lenovo Yoga 920. It also offers great brightness with 421 nits. It offered great touch sensitivity when navigating through Chrome and desktop apps. Scrolling was smooth both in TweetDeck and in apps without the stutter.

    Performance

We’ve finally got a Chromebook which is power-packed by 8 Gigs of RAM and Intel Core i5-7Y57 inside. It works well with all Android apps and delivers smooth performance. There is no lag or stutter when splitting between dozens of tabs (Google Docs included) and a 1080p Full HD YouTube video while using Twitter, Slack, and Outlook.

    Google Pixelbook Review

It even scored 7927 on the benchmark test of Geekbench 4 beating the notebook average of 6823. On the JetStream JavaScript benchmark, it scored 145 in the performance of web apps. The Intel HD 615 graphics integrated into Pixelbook delivers smooth visuals.

    Battery Life

The battery life of Chromebooks is quite terrific but Pixelbook is not just another laptop with Chrome OS. It lasted just around 8 hours on web surfing on Wi-Fi, which is quite shorter than 12:09 by iPad Pro and 12:22 by Lenovo Yoga 920.

After 15 minutes of charging, Google claims around 2 hours of backup in Pixelbook (when it had just 5% of battery left). But in the real world, it gave only 1 hour and 18 minutes of battery life by charging for 15 minutes. However, we have used some Android apps and done surfing.

    Chrome OS

Chromebooks have always had a complaint that they couldn’t stand out from Mac OS and Windows machines for a long time as they were short in apps available from Chrome Web Store and more than 95% of those apps were junk.

By bringing Android apps and Google Play store to the platform, we have seen a long-promised change finally on some machines like Asus Chromebook Flip and Samsung Chromebook Pro. You can now get Outlook and other Microsoft Office apps, Instagram (with posting), and games like PinOut.

Chromebook buyers have finally got a reason to expand storage, thanks to the arrival of Android to those notebooks. It is because there are apps that save content to use offline, such as Netflix and Spotify Premium.

    Touchpad and Keyboard

The backlit keyboard on Pixelbook adds another comfort to type longer, despite its shallow design and thin design. The keys feel even more comfortable than the ones on Smart Keyboard by iPad Pro, which is quite louder in typing. Google seems to make up for shallowness with its key systems which need an actuation force of 68 grams.

The silicon palm rest on Pixelbook has another plus with rubbery flex and grip to provide even better typing experience. The edge-to-edge touchpad which measures 4×2.6-inch sits beautifully in between such wrist rests. It enables solid feel and accurate tracking on each click. The touchpad makes it even easier to scroll through webpages.

    Pixelbook Pen

It is another feather in Pixelbook’s cap with the power of Google Assistant. Unfortunately, it costs $99 extra. Simply hold down the button of this pen while highlighting the object and you can send text and images to the digital assistant. The powers of Google Assistant really come handy when it comes to circle something.

Like Apple Pencil, which also costs the same, Pixelbook Pen also comes with tilt support and pressure sensitivity. However, this stylish has issues in latency according to where it is used.

    Sound

The Pixelbook is quite loud but lacks audio quality when it comes to playing music in a large conference room. While listening to a few tracks, we have wondered why vocals feel so flat and where the bass is.

    Plus

    • Excellent display
    • Cool thin design
    • Superb performance

    Minus

    • Overpriced
    • Battery life is not quite good

    Our Verdict

When it comes to the overall performance, looks, and display, the Pixelbook is great as a Chromebook as it stacks up well against iOS and Windows-based archrivals. It could have been an easy choice if Pixelbook was not overpriced with mediocre battery life.

If looks don’t matter and you want better battery life while saving money, you could easily go with Asus Chromebook Flip C302CA and save up to $500. But if you have no problem with the budget, you can definitely go with Google Pixelbook, which is the best Chrome OS laptop money can buy.

  • Samsung Galaxy A90 5G Review

    Samsung Galaxy A90 5G Review

Samsung has unveiled its Galaxy A90 5G at an annual Berlin tech show, IFA 2019. It is the latest addition to its 5G devices and the latest entry to the affordable Galaxy A range by Samsung. Basically, 5G is an expensive feature yet. So, the 5G devices are quite on a high side currently. We have got a hands-on with Galaxy A90 5G.

    Samsung Galaxy A90 5G Hands-on Review

    Price and Launch Date

Just after its September 5 release, Samsung Galaxy A90 5G has been available for purchase in Korea. After a month, it was launched in the UK on October 4. If you live in the US or Australia, you need to wait a bit longer as the release date is still not clear in those regions.

    Samsung Galaxy A90 5G Review

When it comes to price, the 5G device will be available for €749 (which is roughly £630, $830, and AU$1215). So, we cannot claim it to be an affordable device yet. But it’s a bargain as compared to other 5G devices. We couldn’t convert the launch price exactly to other reasons. So, it might be priced more or less in your region.

    Display

On paper, the Samsung Galaxy A90 5G is an ‘affordable’ smartphone, but it’s only in comparison to other 5G handsets. It still holds a premium price tag, according to many people. On the other hand, it is going to be built with materials that are expected from a mid-range device and it can be felt with its weight.

    Samsung Galaxy A90 5G Display

Samsung Galaxy A90 5G is, of course slim, but not that thin at flagship level. The tactile volume rockers and power button on the side feel solid and well placed but there is still some heft on its thickness.

Weighing around 206g, it feels quite heavier than its price. It is quite tall with dimensions of 164.8 x 76.4 x 8.4mm, even though not as wide as other devices with the same screen sizes.

With dual-tone rear panel, black plastics are quite heavily used in its built. The upper half comes with gloss shine but it splits halfway down. The rear panel of the phone shifts to the rainbow-black effect. It reminds us of Google Pixel 3 somehow.

At 6.7 inches diagonally, the display is quite large but appealing too. It held its own brightness and vibrant colors to deal with the glare of several overhead lights at the showroom. But it dropped the color vibrancy at an angle.

Super AMOLED display is really very sharp but not that crisp like other Samsung devices. The apps and text looked legible but the pixel density is apparent and gets close enough. Well, you won’t find any change in daily use. But it seems that its 5G support ramps up the price tag over everything else.

Like most of the Galaxy A series of phones, it has got an Infinity-U display. There is a tear-drop notch having a selfie camera.

    Camera

There are triple rear cameras in the Samsung Galaxy A90 5G, including 48MP main, 8MP for the ultra-wide-angle lens, and 5MP depth sensor. Today, even mid-range smartphones have ultra-wide-angle lenses. But there is basically a telephoto zoom lens with optical zoom rather than the depth sensor in a 3-camera setup.

    Samsung Galaxy A90 5G Camera

It means you can take pictures of your meals, pets, or friends with Samsung Galaxy A90 5G instead of far-away objects. It also has a 32MP front-facing camera, which is a high resolution for taking sharp selfies.

When it comes to responsiveness, it is truly visible in the device camera as well. The snapper launches quite quickly and focuses on the subject with just one tap and jumps into AR modes quickly.

You can quickly toggle between the camera modes with one swipe of the display. It also allows you to choose the mode and use it in a jiffy, even single-handedly. If it’s the first Samsung phone you are using, each setting’s name is confusing at first glance. You never know what “Live Focus” means before actually getting a hand on it.

When it comes to battery life, Galaxy A90 5G packs over 4500mAh of juice, which is quite huge. It takes some time to know the actual backup of the phone. But its capacity can definitely accompany you for longer.

Even though it seems discharging, its 25W fast charging is quite snappy. Let’s see if it comes with a fast charger bundled or you will need to buy it on your own.

    Specs and Performance

When it comes to performance, our hands-on time was quite promising with Galaxy A90 5G. It was quite smooth when switching between apps, flipping through menus and loading apps and games. The screen response was quite fast and smooth with no lag or stutter.

The handset packs 6GB or 8GB of RAM, according to the model you choose. However, the processor the device would get power from is still not clear. According to the region, it could be Snapdragon or Exynos, just like other Samsung phones.

Similarly, it had no issues when switching between taps and apps for multitasking and firing up games. The demo model we tested had no games pre-installed to test. But the company claims that its processor would optimize with the game requirements on the go.

When you will need a power-packed headshot, it would supercharge the game. When using casual apps like Facebook or WhatsApp, it would bring back the performance to normal to save battery. It would have both faces unlock and in-display fingerprint scanner for security.

    Our Verdict

The Galaxy A90 5G is all set to come up as an affordable 5G phone which wouldn’t force you to break the bank just for 5G connectivity. The handset will come with all the features to make it impressive like the sleek design and sharp and bright display. Game optimization and other features make it worthy for gamers.

    Pros

    • Sharp display
    • Really long battery life

    Cons

    • Camera app UI is quite confusing
    • The device is quite heavy

    Overall

Samsung Galaxy A90 5G is one of the first 5G phones which are quite affordable. So, there is nothing much to compare. Its sharp display and robust performance make it quite closer to premium status.

Samsung Galaxy Tab S5e hands-on review

Smartphones have become inevitable in our world. Having an expensive smartphone has become a status symbol much like having a car. You can get all these with the new Samsung Galaxy Tab S5e. Grab the tab today and have a great time using it. Let us see the features of the tablet one by one in this review.

    Affordable price!

The Galaxy Tab S4 which was launched last year had a high price tag. It was not so affordable. Many of us dream about using an expensive-looking smartphone with stunning features. But the price would be so high that we have been postponing that dream. Not anymore. With the new Samsung Galaxy Tab S5e, we can now make our dream a reality.

It is priced very reasonably yet it looks costly. Great, right! But this reduction in cost has not affected the quality of the tablet in any way. The LTE variant of Samsung Galaxy Tab S5e is Rs.39, 999 and its Wi-Fi only variant is available at Rs.35, 999.

    Sleek Design!

The tablet features a sleek and stylish design. For some people, the design might be a little basic but it isn’t much of a problem. The tab is very thin and is just 5.5mm. You don’t have to worry about handling such a thin tab. It is very comfortable to grip it.

The main issue that we face with a tab is that the big screen size of it makes it tiring to hold it for long periods. You won’t face this issue with Samsung Galaxy Tab S5e because it weighs only 400 grams! Your hands won’t experience fatigue while you are using this tab. Unfortunately, the tab does not have a headphone jack. But there is an adapter that comes with the tab. This adapter can be used to connect the wired headphones via the USB-C port. Four speakers are present in the tab to give you a great audio experience. The top left corner has a camera.

    Stunning Display

The tablet looks vibrant with a 10.5 inch AMOLED panel with a 16:10 aspect ratio. This means you can enjoy media content with a resolution of 2560×1600. There is enough space to place your thumbs while holding your tab.

This is possible due to the absence of physical home and other navigation buttons on the bezel. If you are a gamer, then you are in for a visual treat with this tab. You can even read books on kindle and the tab makes it quite comfy. If you want, you can even buy a keyboard to use along with the Samsung Galaxy Tab S5e.

This will allow you to use the tab like a laptop along with software like Dex Mode. The keyboard is a little tight on space but with time you will adjust to it. The absence of backlight makes it a little tough to type if you don’t have enough light.

Performance of Samsung Galaxy Tab S5e

The newly launched tab comes with a Snapdragon 670 chipset and a 4 GB RAM. This is good for a standard Android device. A 15W charger accompanies the 7040mAh battery and it takes three hours to completely charge the tab.

The charge lasts long enough and there is nothing much to complain about. You can use it for even more than 14 hours. The internal storage of the tab is 64GB. But there are provisions to support 512GB microSD cards in the tab.Samsung Galaxy Tab S5e PerformanceThe tablet performs well when we are multitasking. But sometimes after prolonged usage, one might find some lags in the functions. The tablet comes with a pre-loaded Bixby digital voice assistant.

With this feature, you can give voice commands to your tablet. There are some child safety features present in this amazing tab. Parents can use these to limit access to a few apps and information by their kids.

    Decent Camera!

The tablet has a 13MP rear camera along with an 8MP front camera. You get autofocus with a rear camera but the flash is absent. If you wish to take pictures in low light, then this camera will not suit your needs. Videos can be recorded with 4K resolution but that’s it.

You can’t expect much from the cameras in the Samsung Galaxy Tab. But you can take decent pictures and make video calls with a front camera. Full-featured Promo mode is absent in this camera. Overall, in terms of camera, it just gives an average performance. But most of us don’t use a tab for the purpose of taking pictures. So, this shouldn’t be a problem.
